The Bachelor Season 29 Week 3 Recap: Grant Forms Connections
Grant Ellis and his group of women plunged into the journey for love in episode 3 of The Bachelor on February 9, 2025 — literally. Now that real feelings are developing between Grant and some of the ladies, things are getting pretty intense, especially after a group date in episode 2 led to jealousy among the group.
Life & Style recaps the third episode of the season as The Bachelor heads to Sin City for one lucky date. Who went home at the end of the episode?
What Happened on the Group Date?
There was a “really fun” group date this week, Jesse Palmer revealed at the top of the episode. All of the girls except for Beverly and Carolina were chosen for the group date. On the group date, they were joined by Shark Tank‘s Daniel Lubetzky and comedian Hannah Berner to talk about investing. The finance-themed date was a bit of a snooze, but some of the girls were able to shine with their humor and earn “Grant Bucks.” At the end of the lesson, Bailey was the woman with the most “Grant Bucks” and got special time with him at the afterparty.
Zoe broke down in tears at the afterparty because she felt uncomfortable on the date. Then she overheard Sarafiena making a comment about her dress being too short, which made her upset. She decided to tell Grant about what was going on. “I’m not going to let him be duped by people who are fake,” she said in a confessional.
Zoe reflected on the “little jabs” that have been thrown her way since last week’s basketball group date where she stole Grant away for a few minutes. “I don’t like hearing that Zoe’s upset,” Grant said. He denounced “petty arguments” between the women in a confessional.
Elsewhere during the cocktail party, sparks flew between Grant and Juliana. She said her heart was “happy” after her conversation with Grant, where he mentioned how “cute” she was during last week’s basketball game. Ultimately, it was Parisa who got the group date rose after a fun and playful conversation with Grant.
After handing out the group date rose, Grant addressed the “rumors about people belittling” and making others feel “uncomfortable” in the house. He urged the women to “be kind” to each other. The next morning, all of the girls were crying back at the mansion because they were speculating about what Zoe said to Grant.
Grant Took Carolina on a Date to Las Vegas
In the midst of all of the tears, Grant took Carolina on a private jet to Las Vegas. He felt like she was the perfect choice to go with him to jump off of the 829-foot Strat Hotel in Sin City. They did it successfully and loved it so much they wanted to do it again. At dinner, Grant asked Carolina if she was ready for marriage and she opened up and got emotional, saying that she wants to get married and realizes that Grant has a lot of qualities that she is looking for in a partner.
Carolina said that she has a disability “that people can see.” She revealed that she started getting tremors when she was 13. One morning she went to school, and she had a seizure. She said she was “mortified.” Carolina was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 17. She said that friends and romantic partners have let her down in the past due to her condition. Grant and Carolina broke down in tears during the conversation.
“I want you to know that I’m starting to feel feelings for you, and that’s not something that’s going to stand in the way at all,” Grant told Carolina after she opened up.
Carolina got the rose at the end of the date.
There Was a 2nd Group Date and a Shocking Departure
The girls revealed that Beverly was sick and could not go on the date with Grant. It was later revealed that Beverly had to leave the show. In Beverly’s absence, Grant took the girls on another group date to go play with puppies at an animal shelter. Lisa Vanderpump helped out on the group date, encouraging the girls to step in and groom the animals.
Carolina said she was “jealous” after hearing that a few girls were chosen to go on the date. Grant picked Litia to go to dinner with him that night. On the date, Grant teared up while talking about his dad’s addiction. Litia opened up about her family and her father’s death when she was 3 months old. They bonded and FaceTimed Litia’s mom. He ended up giving her the rose on the date.
Carolina was crying again back at the mansion. She said she had a conversation with Rose, who told her that Grant said when he was dancing with Carolina on last week’s group date, he was thinking about Rose.
The Women Went to Prom With Grant
The women received a message that Grant was taking them to prom. Grant did not go to his high school prom because he prioritized basketball. He brought some guys from The Golden Bachelorette, Gary, Jonathan, Jack and Keith, to go to the prom too. They were all having a blast at the party, taking pictures and dancing until the drama once again started.
Carolina confronted Grant about what Rose told her. “You said to someone you were thinking of them when you were dancing on stage with me,” she told him. He denied the accusations. He asked her if it was Bailey, Dina or Litia and she said no. Grant said he is not there to “play games.” By process of elimination, Grant figured out that Carolina was referring to Rose. He confronted her about it and Rose admitted that she thought she heard Grant say that he was thinking about her while dancing on stage with Carolina.
Rose said that the girls were “spiraling” and “comparing notes” and that’s what prompted her to make the comment to Carolina. She apologized to Grant for the comment. “That was really something that I thought that he said,” Rose said in her confessional. After speaking to Rose, Grant spoke to Carolina about it again and she admitted that it was really hard to hear that from Rose. The other girls were mad that the drama was eating away at their time with Grant.
Who Went Home at the Rose Ceremony?
After all the drama that transpired this week, there was a lot of tension for the group heading into the rose ceremony. In addition to Beverly leaving early in the episode, Bailey, Chloie and Alli Jo were sent home.
