Taylor Swift's Popularity Plummets After Kamala Endorsement

Singer Taylor Swift‘s recent endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris is backfiring after a poll revealed it struck a sour note with many voters in her home state.

According to a new poll from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, the singer is rapidly losing favor among GOP registrants in Pennsylvania after endorsing Harris in the 2024 presidential campaign.

A staggering 61% now view Swift unfavorably, with only 16% offering approval.

But the backlash isn’t just from Republicans.

Many Independent voters, who often hold sway in crucial elections, have dumped Swift too.

The polls revealed just 29% of independents approve of her, while 48% disapprove.

Swift’s attempt to win over undecided voters by aligning with Harris has now hurt her popularity with white voters as well. She now has a 35% approval rating compared to 40% disapproval.

With just 23% of this group approving of her and 45% disapproving, Swift’s politicizing of her music could be career suicide.

Swift’s decision to endorse Harris in September appears to have alienated a significant portion of her fanbase in her home state.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift wrote on Instagram after the debate.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

“I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Swift finished:

“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”

“I also want to say, especially to first-time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”
