Singer Courtney Love Applies for UK Citizenship to Escape Trump's America
Hole singer Courtney Love, the widow of the late Kurt Cobain of ’90s grunge pioneers Nirvana, has revealed she is getting citizenship in the United Kingdom because Donald Trump is back in the White House.
Love, 60, who recently appeared at the Royal Geographical Society in London, said, “I’m finally getting my British citizenship in six months. I get to be a citizen—I’m applying, man! Can’t get rid of me!”
The singer then launched into an unhinged tirade against Trump, calling his administration “emperor-core,” “frightening,” and comparing it to “cyanide.”
“In terms of Trump, and particularly this group… it’s like emperor-core—like, [they’re] wearing million-dollar watches,” she told the audience.
“Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago. It’s frightening now. It’s like cyanide now.”
Love joins the growing list of Hollywood celebrities who have fled America to escape Trump.
Earlier this month, Rosie O’Donnell announced she was finally making good on her promise to leave the United States under Donald Trump’s presidency, telling her followers that she and her 12-year-old child had moved to Ireland and would not be returning to America.

“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are.”
“You know, I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends.”
“I miss many things about life there at home, and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country, and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”
