REPORT: 'Politburo' of the Biden White House (These 5 Ran the Country) | JP

0

This is one of those stories that leaves you shaking your head, because you already “knew it” — but hearing it encapsulated in to a single homogenous snapshot somehow makes it even harder to accept.

We all know that Joe Biden hasn’t had the capacity to function as President for some time.

And regardless of the ulterior motives, the book that just came out by Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper reveal that fact in scary detail.

For one thing, they named names.

They also divulged the ironic (but oh-so-appropriate) nickname of the small group that essentially ran the White House — and the Country — in the absence of a President with enough physical and mental capacity to handle the job.

The “Politburo” was the nickname given to the group that — allegedly — usurped the power of the Presidency.

And in doing so, hid the worst of Biden’s health and mental disfunctions from the American people so well… the group felt that he (and they…) deserved ANOTHER TERM for a job so well done.

I wasn’t kidding when I said the nickname FIT.

The INSIDE JOKE within the White House, among aides, and even with senior Administration Officials was that a “Politburo” was running things in place of the President.

I believe that’s all the evidence we would ever need to say:

  1. These people KNEW the crime they were committing — and allowing to be committed — against a supposedly free people.
  2. They respected the country and the office of the President so little, they literally made light of their own complicity by jokingly calling it a “Politburo”.

And just to be clear — Jake Tapper’s sudden fence-jumping where he pretends he’s just as shocked as the rest of us?

What a crock.  But I really want to focus on the details within the Biden White House, so in that interest I’m not going to spend a lot of time pointing out his complicity in all this.

Tapper and Thompson appeared together to talk about the details of the “Politburo” on Washington Week with the Atlantic’s Jeff Goldberg.  (I know, I know… but stick with me – this is good.)

Here’s the key 12 minute clip of that conversation, which is well worth watching.

You might puke several times throughout the 12 minutes; but well worth it:

But for those not up for that challenge, here’s a short transcript of the bottom line from that conversation.

Here is the explanation of the “Politburo” in Biden’s White House, according to a conversation between the Atlantic’s Jeff Goldberg and the two co-authors of the book that purported to OUT this “Politburo”, Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper, as reported by Real Clear Politics:

JEFFREY GOLDBERG: Well, who was running the country in?

ALEX THOMPSON, AXIOS: Well, I just wanted to first add, you know, beginning in April 2023, I really started honing in on this issue because of what some people in the White House were saying about their concerns, not necessarily in the moment, but certainly that he could not do a reelection campaign or serve four more years.

JEFFREY GOLDBERG: Right.

ALEX THOMPSON: And in response to that reporting, the White House said false. They denied it. They denied it. They denied it. And I was hearing otherwise. So, I had stopped believing their denials for a while.

But in terms of who was running the White House, it’s a small group of people that have been around.

Some people within the administration called them the Politburo. That’s the term we used in the book.

JEFFREY GOLDBERG: Give us the names of the three or four.

ALEX THOMPSON: Mike Donilon, Biden’s longtime political liaison, Steve Ricchetti, who was sort of the legislative liaison, plus like a friend, Bruce Reed, at times, depending on his situation with the Biden people, Ron Klain. And then there are some people outside the Politburo bureau that are closer to family, which would be obviously Jill Biden, Hunter Biden, but then Jill’s main chief of staff, Anthony Bernal, and sort of his sort of like deputy in some ways, Annie Tomasini, who is often Biden’s traveling chief of staff.

JAKE TAPPER: And Jill Biden himself also is part of this. Joe Biden is not like — it’s not Weekend at Bernie’s, right? He has some purchase here. He has some agency. And he’s aware of some of what’s going on. He might be in denial about it, but he’s aware of the fact that they are keeping the cabinet away from him, they’re keeping some White House staffers away from him, they’re keeping members of Congress away from him. He knows what’s going on.

Jill and Hunter I was aware of — but I didn’t really know that much about Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Bruce Reed, or even Ron Klain.

So here’s a breakdown of the key players — 5 in all, counting Jill and Hunter Biden together — and a snapshot of the roles they played in running Biden’s White House in his stead.

I give you the alleged “Politburo”, as outlined in a video shared by The Times:

Here’s the full screen version of that video for easier viewing:

Here’s another angle of that breakdown, specifying the roles each played as reported by the New York Post:

Mike Donilon, senior adviser

Donilon, who served as a senior adviser to Biden from the start of his presidency until January 2024 when he hopped over to the campaign, had been a close confidant of the former president since the 1980s.

“The president valued Mike Donilon’s advice so much that aides would later joke that if he wanted, he could get Biden to start a war,” Thompson and Tapper wrote.

Steve Ricchetti, counselor to the president

Ricchetti, who served as counselor to the president throughout Biden’s time in the White House, served as the 46th president’s chief of staff during the latter half of his vice presidency and worked on Biden’s campaign. He also previously served as the White House deputy chief of staff for operations in the Clinton administration.

At one point, Ricchetti personally called a reporter of an unnamed media outlet off the record to refute claims from multiple sources about Biden’s health, according to the book. He also fumed after actor George Clooney penned a stunning op-ed urging Biden to drop out of the race.

“Ricchetti read it and was furious. Internally, he threatened to shut Clooney down—some of his colleagues thought he sounded like a mob boss,” the authors wrote.

Bruce Reed, deputy chief of staff for policy

Reed previously served as Biden’s chief of staff during the first half of his vice presidency, prior to Ricchetti later taking over that post. He is also an alumnus of the Clinton administration.

He was widely regarded as a “policy wonk” and was among the advisers who helped prep Biden for his disastrous debate against President Trump.

Ron Klain, ex-chief of staff

Klain had been in Biden’s orbit since the 1980s during the former president’s Senate days. He also worked on the Clinton campaign in 2016.

“Biden showed a particular deference to Klain even though his chief of staff was often more progressive. Biden had deep respect for Klain’s intellect. ‘Only one person here is smarter than me and it’s Ron,’ aides heard him say,” the book claimed.

Hunter Biden and Jill Biden

In the earlier stages of the former president’s political career, the first lady had been a “reluctant political spouse,” but she had significant influence throughout his administration, admonishing staffers at times for letting him ramble on too long in front of the cameras.

Hunter Biden had weighed heavily on his father during his second term, and some aides speculated it played a role in his decline.

“To understand Joe Biden’s deterioration, top aides told us, one has to know Hunter’s struggles,” the book said.

Many “politburo” members also brought key friends and family into plum Biden administration roles.

Donilon’s niece landed a role on the National Security Council, according to the book.

Reed’s daughter was a day scheduler for the president and Ricchetti’s children also found jobs across the government, “Original Sin” reported.

This entire version of what went on inside the Biden White House rings perfectly true for me.

I am reminded of a story I reported on four months ago that left me completely flabbergasted — again, even though I already knew it had to be the case.

Just a few days before the inauguration I reported this story in which Speaker Mike Johnson gives a vivid firsthand account of seeing Biden’s lack of involvement in the daily affairs of running the country — even though all those official actions were done in his name.

Speaker Johnson’s Spooky Conversation Alone With Biden in the Oval Office (Scariest Video You’ll See Today)

If nothing else, watch this clip if you have never seen it.

It jives perfectly with the “Politburo” framework, and explains what it must have been like for top officials whenever they did happen to grab a few moments alone with the President — which was very seldom by design.

That account showcases Biden’s lack of awareness of how his authority as President was being misused by those around him.

That’s criminal in more ways than one.  Heads should roll over this, particularly as the details start to emerge in stories like that of the “Politburo”.

One more key detail jumped out at me in researching this story.

Two days ago I reported that President Trump was continuing to PURGE the Deep State from the federal government, including the National Security Council, which operates directly out of the White House:

President Trump PURGES the White House (30 Min to Clean Out Desks!)

In that story, I detailed how the National Security Council has effectively been the policy and information gatekeeper for the United States.

That is why President Trump and Marco Rubio have been DOGGEDLY DETERMINED to gut that apparatus.

And that’s exactly who Biden primarily took his marching orders from — certain aides, and his National Security Council advisers, according to the previously referenced article from the New York Post:

A small, tight-knit group in former President Joe Biden’s inner circle was running the White House like a “politburo,” and they were the “ultimate decision-makers” as Biden’s health and cognitive function continued to decline, according to the authors of a bombshell new book.

Many of the seasoned politicos had been around Joe Biden for decades. Regardless of official titles in his 2020 campaign and administration, the “politburo” generally called the shots and got Biden to agree.

“Five people were running the country, and Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board,” one source familiar with the inner workings of the White House told the authors.

An unidentified cabinet secretary vented about the Politburo, saying, “I’ve never seen a situation like this before, with so few people having so much power. They would make huge economic decisions without calling [Treasury] Secretary Yellen.”

The Politburo had been forceful in rejecting and diminishing concerns about the former president’s age and mental acuity, according to the book. The advisers had generally seen “concerns about Biden’s age as simply a political vulnerability, not a serious limitation,” the book claims.

They believed that Biden was achieving real policy victories, entitling him, and them, to a second term, according to the book.

Alumni of the Obama administration also spotted key differences in how Joe Biden’s presidency operated.

“Obama would hash it out with deputies and mid-level aides. Biden, by contrast, mostly met with the Politburo and his top national security aides,” the book said.  (Emphasis added.)

That contrast between the Biden White House (ran overtly and covertly by the Deep State), and the Trump White House in which every vestige of the Deep State disloyalists is being ripped from the walls of the government, couldn’t be more starkly different.

God forbid this country ever again falls in to the politically motivated pragmatic trap of voting for, and covering for, an empty suit to occupy the highest office in the land.

The danger is far too real.  And the consequences the next time around could potentially be even worse than we’ve experienced (so far) from this latest carnival ride.
