Rep. Jasmine Crockett Appears to Physically Attack Reporter, Facing ASSAULT CHARGES! (The Saga Continues…) | JP

If Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett intentionally tried to put herself in a position to wind up in legal trouble, I’m not sure she could have done a better job than she has today.

And she hasn’t done a shabby job for several days in a row, if that’s her aim!

I try to cover whatever is the most important and timely news item at any given moment, while maintaining enough variety to keep things interesting.

Luckily, Jasmine Crockett is keeping it interesting all by herself, despite the fact that she is making news so quickly that she’s constantly on my news radar lately!

And she may have stepped into a heaping pile of “uh-oh” this time.

Besides all the uproar she caused surrounding her inflammatory birthday wish that someone would “take down” Elon Musk…

Besides her violent word imagery calling for someone to attack Senator Ted Cruz with blunt force trauma to the head…

And even besides her unhinged mocking of Governor Greg Abbott’s physical disabilities, confining him to a wheelchair…

Today, she seems to have ASSAULTED a reporter on camera, right in the halls of the Capitol building!

And, yes — charges have been filed with the Capitol Police.

Here’s the full screen version of the video that Laura Loomer put out earlier today, taken by her DC Correspondent Charles Downs:

That certainly looks like an unprovoked physical assault to me.

And the charges don’t end with assault.

They apparently included a battery charge stemming from lacerations on Charles Downs’ hand, left by the Congresswoman’s long nails when she struck out at him — and attempted theft, as well.

She allegedly tried to abscond with Downs’ camera after the physical altercation.

Here’s the post Laura Loomer shared today announcing that the incident had occurred:

Here is the full text of Loomer’s post, including her call for Speaker Johnson to censure Rep. Crockett — which I think at this point is the LEAST that should happen:

Democrat Congresswoman @RepJasmine Jasmine Crockett just physically attacked and assaulted @LoomerUnleashed DC Correspondent @TheCharlesDowns, attempting to violently steal his phone out of his hand after he asked her if she would condemn the violence at @Tesla showrooms that she herself called for on a @Tesla Takedown call to action 5 days ago with violent Democrat activists.

Charles told me Jasmine’s long finger nails scratched his hand, leaving a red mark and indentations from her nails on the top of his hand.

(See clip below)👇🏻

It’s clear elected Democrats have embraced violence against Trump supporters and members of the independent media, even in the halls of Congress.

@SpeakerJohnson MUST CENSURE Jasmine Crockett immediately for her incitement of violence and her actual violence in the halls of Congress.

The incident happened around 10:00am EST Tuesday morning.

Ironically, DC Correspondent Downs was specifically asking Congresswoman Crockett if she would condemn the physical attacks carried out against Elon Musk’s Tesla company in recent days when she resorted to her own physical response.

Downs filed a police report with the U.S. Capitol Police immediately after the incident according to Newsweek:

A police report has been filed after a conservative news reporter affiliated with activist Laura Loomer was seen being confronted by Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett.

Crockett, a first-term Democrat from Texas who assumed office in January 2023, was already facing backlash on Tuesday for remarks she made the day before about Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s paralysis that were viewed by some as incendiary.

Around 10 a.m. ET Tuesday in the Rayburn House building, outside of the Judiciary Committee hearing room in the U.S. Capitol, Crockett was questioned by Loomer Unleashed Washington, D.C., correspondent Charles Downs. Downs works for Loomer and contributes toward the show that airs on Rumble.

Video taken by Downs and subsequently posted to X shows Downs trying to ask Crockett questions about whether she “condemns violence” related to the 500-plus planned “Tesla Takedown” protests planned for Saturday.

Near the end of the 30-second recording, Downs asks once more and Crockett moves toward him and grab his phone, distorting the video. The video has been viewed on X over 1.7 million times.

Downs filed a police report on Tuesday afternoon with U.S. Capitol Police (USCP).

In a subsequent update to her X account, Laura Loomer shared a shot of the USCP information reporting screen from Downs’ statement.

Rep. Crockett posted about the incident, claiming Downs had invaded her personal space — which from the clear footage leading up to the attack is a completely fabricated stretch in order to cover herself legally for an unprovoked attack.

And that is exactly the track Charles Downs took in replying to Crockett, as well as indicating that he won’t follow up on the charges… if the Congresswoman will simply apologize.

Here’s their discourse on the X platform from earlier today:

I only want to share one single ‘SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSE’ post, because it sums up perfectly everything that needs to be said:

Amazingly, Rep. Crockett managed to gain the promise of a censure resolution in the same day as attacking a reporter, for comments she made the day before — mocking Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

She literally called him “Governor Hot Wheels”.

And then had the gall to claim she was referencing his tendency to transport illegal immigrants to northern sanctuary cities… and not the fact that he is confined to a wheelchair.

This all happened in less than 24 hours — that has to be a record for the most disrespect in a specified time period by a sitting Congresswoman!

Now, a member of her own Texas Congressional delegation is promising to introduce the censure resolution for her mockery of Greg Abbott’s physical disability, according to Fox News:

A GOP lawmaker is moving to have Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, formally rebuked by the House of Representatives for appearing to mock Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s disability.

Rep. Randy Weber, R-Texas, Crockett’s fellow delegation member, told Fox News Digital he would introduce a censure resolution against the Democratic lawmaker imminently.

“The story of our great governor of Texas is one of unwavering resilience and perseverance. Meanwhile, the actions of Jasmine Crockett – stooping to vile levels of discrimination and despicable political attacks – are nothing short of reprehensible,” Weber told Fox News Digital.

He said the House should censure Crockett “for the venomous rhetoric she spews as a representative of the Democratic Party.”

“It’s painfully obvious she was never taught a single thing about Texas class, as her behavior is a disgrace to everything Texas and the United States stands for,” Weber said.

Crockett made the comments during an event held by the Human Rights Campaign over the weekend. She has since denied she was mocking Abbott’s disability.

Laura Loomer, meanwhile, spent a good part of her day bringing up things the Congresswoman has said in the past.

Some of those things haven’t aged so well.

It remains to be seen if Congresswoman Crockett will take Downs up on his gracious offer to forgive her in exchange for a simple apology.

Pride has deep roots — unlike that gaudy weave.

And I suspect the arrogance of Rep. Crockett will win out, and she will force the issue in a courtroom setting.

As much as I can applaud Downs for his ‘higher road’ approach in offering to let things go for a mere apology… I yearn to see Crockett held accountable for her behavior, for a change.

And if I ever get the chance to write a story with her mugshot as the headline picture… I’ll be singing Downs’ praises for an entire week thereafter for simply having the follow-through to make that police report!
