Miami, Florida – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Jay Collins as the state’s Lieutenant Governor to replace Jeanette Núñez, who is now president of Florida International University (FIU). Don’t be surprised when later this year Collins announces his campaign for Governor next year, with the support of DeSantis.
It looks like President Maduro’s days in Venezuela are numbered. In a moment of madness, his deputy, Diosdado Cabello, started shouting that María Corina Machado is hiding inside the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. If they go after her, all hell will break loose. We don’t believe the situation in Venezuela will stabilize—we firmly believe Maduro, Diosdado, and Padrino will be taken out of Caracas in handcuffs and end up in a U.S. prison. The United States has already emphatically declared that Maduro and his accomplices are deeply involved in drug trafficking (including fentanyl) into our country. And when Maduro falls, Díaz-Canel, little Raúl, and Ortega in Nicaragua will follow right after. May it be so!
The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a peace treaty between the two countries with Donald Trump present. Both countries have been in conflict for decades. Another victory for Trump in achieving world peace, and in winning a Nobel Peace Prize.
The death of the young Colombian leader and senator, Miguel Uribe Turbay, shocked his country and the entire hemisphere. An honest young man who lost his mother at the age of four in a cruel drug cartel attack, and who had to grow up without her. He chose peace and forgiveness and wanted to make Colombia a better place to live and raise a family. Miguel entered the Senate and became the preferred candidate of his country’s democratic right. At 39, he was shot dead by a young man (who remains in prison, though it is unknown who paid him to kill Miguel). Today we all feel Colombian, mourning a star of our hemisphere. An irreproachable man who did not deserve to die. Rest in peace, Miguel, and may the Lord welcome you into His kingdom!
One of the most prominent figures in the U.S. Senate, Republican Marsha Blackburn, announced she will not seek reelection, because she plans to run for governor of Tennessee. Senator Blackburn is a tireless worker, and we believe her election to lead her state will be possible by a wide majority. We lose a great Senator, but Tennessee gains a relentless gladiator.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday, August 15, in Alaska to discuss how to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. That meeting led to a meeting today in the White House with Ukrainian President Zelensky and other European leaders.
California once again ranked as the state with the most billionaires, followed by New York and then Florida. I wouldn’t doubt that in a couple of years Florida will top this list.
United States Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that President Trump increased the reward for the capture of Nicolás Maduro, from $25 million to $50 million. Maduro has been the biggest “exporter” of fentanyl to the United States, causing the deaths of American citizens.
Colombia has begun celebrating the last year of President Petro. We pray that it really is the last. We hope the cultured people of Colombia oppose keeping this clown in power. Colombia deserves better!
Democratic Party spokesman James Carville had to backtrack in a big way after claiming that Epstein had introduced Melania to Donald Trump. Melania, quick and decisive, contacted her lawyers to shut down this lie. Carville had to apologize, making the fool of himself he deserved. Bingo!
Music legend Eddie Palmieri has passed away. Of Puerto Rican origin, he was born in Brooklyn in 1936. The first Latino to win a Grammy. Very loved and respected by all. May he rest in peace!
The scandal “exposed” by The Miami Herald, revealing that GAESA, the Cuban military’s business conglomerate, has reserves of $18 billion, has sparked serious controversy. With this fortune—greater than what Panama, Costa Rica and Uruguay have combined—the Cuban people have no food or medicine and starve to death if they don’t have relatives in the U.S. Very sad indeed! When will Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez take their ”Anti-Oligarchy Tour” to Havana?
“You have to give up sugar, flour, and beer.” “Thank you, doctor.”
“I’m not a doctor … I’m the supermarket cashier, and your card was declined.”
