Radical ‘No Kings’ rallies: Letters to the Editor — April 1, 2026

The Issue: The third nationwide “No Kings” protest against President Trump and his policies.

Where were the protesters when we actually had politicians attempting to be kings (“When Dems Love ‘Kings,’ ” Editorial, March 30) ?

Where were they when Barack Obama, the Clintons and others tried to destroy President Trump with spurious claims? Where were Bruce Springsteen and his cohorts when illegal aliens murdered Americans?

The radical left always talks of peace, love and togetherness when they really stand for anger, hate and disunion.

James McCaffrey

Yonkers

The Post deeply misrepresented “No Kings” by focusing on the violence (“Anti-fed rallies in violent turn,” March 29).

Three out of 3,300 rallies saw violence. Around 70 people were arrested out of 8 million.

No Kings is an amazing representation of people from both sides of the aisle who want to take a peaceful stand against the Trump administration.

It is not what Trump calls TDS — it’s a massive movement that knows the Trump administration is not working for the best interests of the people.

Jo Trafford

Portland, Maine

It’s time for patriots of all ages to engage in counter peaceful “No Reds” marches in larger numbers. America will never be a communist country no matter how much George Soros and his ilk spend on these rallies.

Anthony Bruno

Smithtown

On the same day I stood at a vigil for Sheridan Gorman, people gathered to protest things like immigration enforcement. They were exercising their right to free speech, but the timing should give us pause.

When we call for the dismantling of systems meant to enforce our laws, what happens to the rights of the people those laws protect? What about Gorman’s right to walk safely with her friends? She mattered. And her right to live should have been protected.

Eileen Carson

Clifton Park

In reality, the true kings are the activist federal judges who thwart Trump at every turn, overriding the will of the people who put him in office.

Walter Goldeski

East Brunswick, NJ

I don’t know why everyone’s so upset about Trump being a “king.” After all, we had court jester Joe Biden for four years. Trump is certainly more alert, imaginative, inventive and courageous.

“No Kings” marchers are as out of it as our former president was.

The Issue: Mayor Mamdani appointing Renita Francois as deputy mayor for community safety.

The mayor’s paying an anti-law and order, police-hating, criminal-sympathizing leftist $290,000 a year to be community safety chief (“Zo’s anti-cop hire,” March 29).

Forget many young academics aspiring to become astronauts, doctors, lawyers and nurses. The dream for many will be to get an internship in the Mamdani administration and be rewarded like Renita Francois.

Joe Nicoletti

Pompton Lakes, NJ

Renita Francois will be paid $290,000 a year for this useless position. If this isn’t corruption, then I don’t know what is.

New York taxpayers should be up in arms like all the anti-American “No Kings” protesters are throughout the country.

Gene O’Brien

Whitestone

Let me get this straight: Mayor Mamdani hired a far-left lunatic to head his Office of Community Safety even though he has a hole in his budget you can drive a garbage truck through.

This office, with a $260 million budget, has one other employee. I guess we now know how a budget gets holes in it.
