Highly Respected and very popular Lieutenant Governor, Burt Jones, is running to be the next Governor of the Great State of Georgia, a very special place to me in that we had a BIG Presidential Election Win just eight short months ago, November 5, 2024.

As the first member of the Georgia State Assembly to Endorse “DONALD J. TRUMP” for President, Burt was strongly committed to my Campaign in 2016, 2020, and 2024, and worked tirelessly to help us WIN. He has been with us from the very beginning.

I know his family well, and have seen Burt tested at the most difficult levels and times — He is a WARRIOR, a successful Businessman, former SEC Championship winning Georgia Bulldogs football player (Known for his toughness!), and now, as Lieutenant Governor, Burt has proven he has the Courage and Wisdom to deliver strong results for the incredible people of his wonderful State and Nation. As your next Governor, Burt Jones will fight hard to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Continue to Secure our now Secure Southern Border, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Advance Election Integrity, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.

Burt Jones for Governor has my Complete and Total Endorsement – HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!

11 Alive reported the significance of Trump’s endorsement:

The endorsement from Trump could be an advantage for the lieutenant governor, whose financial capital and name recognition in the state are high.

Jones already has about $14.3 million cash on hand, with $10 million of it loaned to himself.

It’s a win for Jones and could be seen as a barrier for his opponent, Attorney General Chris Carr, who is not as closely aligned with the president. It’s not the first time Carr has faced a challenge from a Trump-backed candidate. He defeated his Trump-endorsed challenger, John Gordon, in the Republican primary for attorney general in 2022.

Carr was the first prominent Republican to announce his candidacy for governor, shortly after the 2024 presidential election. An early entrance to jump-start fundraising. He has about $2.7 million in cash on hand.

The lieutenant governor of the Peach State has long been a supporter of Trump, even butting heads with his boss, Gov. Brian Kemp, when the president questioned the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Jones was among those alternate electors to sign documents saying Trump was the winner of the 2020 race, although several audits and recounts showed President Joe Biden won.

His loyalty has earned him continued support from the president.

Republican strategist Deanna Harris said this endorsement is a significant boost for Burt Jones’s campaign.

“Strategically… [it’s] delivering early momentum, increased visibility, and validation within the conservative base of the Republican Party,” said Harris, a contributor to 11Alive’s “The Georgia Vote.” “As the campaign unfolds, how Jones navigates these dynamics, leveraging the endorsement while addressing broader electability concerns, will be crucial to his success.”
