Over 13,000 Missing Children Found by Trump Team After Biden Border Disaster
Over 320,000 children were lost by the Biden administration during a border crisis that overwhelmed the country’s ability to manage its borders.
However, just seven months into the Trump administration, at least 13,000 of those kids have been located—a promising sign that they will be reunited with their parents after years on their own or under the protection of dangerous individuals.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials reported the arrest of a Guatemalan national wanted for homicide in Newark after finding he was the sponsor of a missing child.
Adelso Garcia Martinez, 29, was arrested on May 13.
“It is deplorable to imagine that a wanted fugitive would find illegal shelter in the United States with a child in tow and later go on to sponsor another alien,” ICE HSI Newark Special Agent in Charge Ricky Patel said after the arrest.
Just months before the 2024 election, Biden officials admitted they had lost track of 320,000 children as they tried to manage a humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
A staggering 12 million illegal immigrants arrived in the United States, many of whom were offered expanded asylum protections or paroled with court dates as far away as nine years.
Those missing children are just the ones who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the shocking report.
Officials also admitted to poorly vetting some of the individuals who came forward to sponsor many of the children.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump’s U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced it was launching an investigation into the missing kids while warning that some may have ended up living with sexual predators or fugitives.
“Children are being saved,” a Trump administration official told the NY Post about the nationwide effort.
In one horrific case, a 15-year-old girl was impregnated by an Ecuadoran man who then convinced his mother to sponsor the girl so she could stay with them, DHS revealed.
The man allegedly abused the girl since she was 13 when they traveled across the country’s southern border together, officials said.
He was arrested on May 28 near his home in Harlem, New York.
In total, 442 sponsors have so far been arrested after being found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for their arrest, according to U.S. Health and Human Services.
“By leaving our borders open and even encouraging people to come here illegally, Biden enabled the largest human-trafficking operation in modern history,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement to the outlet on Friday.
“We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to eradicate human trafficking operations targeting the United States. Under the leadership of President Donald Trump, and working together at every level of government, we can win this fight. And we will,” she added.
