Nikki Garcia (formerly known as Nikki Bella) thrilled fans when she made her return to the WWE ring during the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble.

The former Total Divas star, 41, showed up with her iconic backwards ball cap as she threw her hands up in the air and walked toward the ring.

“The WWE Hall of Famer, one of the most courageous women on the planet … Nikki Bella is back!” an announcer could be heard saying in the background of a video shared by the official WWE account via X. “For the first time in three years, Nikki Bella is here at the Rumble. What a moment for the WWE.”

Nikki squared off with wrestler Nia Jax before she was eliminated, but the crowd seemed ecstatic to see the mom of one, just the same.

This marked Nikki’s second public appearance since her divorce from Dancing With the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev.

The former couple got engaged in late 2019 and in January 2020, they revealed they were expecting their first child together. Nikki gave birth to their son, Mateo, in August of that same year. Two years later, Nikki and the former So You Think You Can Dance star announced they had tied the knot.

On August 29, 2024, Artem, 42, was arrested for felony domestic violence, according to Napa County, California, jail records viewed by Life & Style. The morning of his arrest, TMZ reported that a call regarding a “medical emergency” was made to 9-1-1. Artem reportedly made the call himself, but he ended up canceling his request before emergency services could arrive.

“Initially came in as requesting medical, but now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at [the reporting party],” the dispatcher said in the audio clip of the call obtained by the outlet. “There is a child on scene. Medical en route. There’s an active 415 [disturbing the peace] in the background responsible. [Artem] got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at [the reporting party].”

On September 11, 2024, Nikki filed for divorce from the Russia native, and less than two weeks later, Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley announced her office declined to file criminal charges against Artem.

“While we take every arrest seriously and stand firmly against domestic violence, we have an ethical obligation to only file charges when supported by the evidence,” Haley said in a statement on September 24, 2024. “We are required to prove any and every criminal charge ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ which is the highest standard in the American criminal justice system. If the available evidence doesn’t rise to this level of proof, then we cannot ethically file charges.”

Artem broke his silence regarding his arrest shortly after the charges were dropped.

“I am incredibly relieved and grateful that the domestic violence charges against me have been dropped,” he said in a statement to E! News on September 25, 2024. “This has been an extremely difficult time for me. I am thankful that the truth has prevailed.”

Both Nikki and Artem were granted restraining orders against one another and those remained in place until their divorce was finalized in November 2024.

The Total Bellas alum returned to the podcast she hosts with her twin sister, Brie Bella, on December 2, 2024, and gave fans an update on her life since her split from Artem.

“I disconnected from social media, from the world, and I just knew that I needed to disconnect because first things first, I’m a mom and my son’s protection and privacy is the most important,” Nikki said. “So I was gonna do whatever it took for that most importantly, and then just needing space for healing, for facing trauma head on, all of that.”
