Nick Jonas 'Learned a Ton' from Joe's Failed Marriage (EXCL)

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are still going strong after more than five years of marriage and a source exclusively tells Life & Style a key ingredient in their success is the fact he’s learned harsh lessons from his brother Joe about how not to go about a marriage, as well as sticking tight to their own methods that make them tick.

“Nick isn’t the oldest Jonas brother, but he is the undisputed leader and plan-setter of the band,” says a longtime pal of the internationally famous couple, “and the rampant perfectionism that he brings to every TJB project has crossed over to his marriage.”

The Disney star, 32, met his Miss World-winner wife, 42, in 2017. They married not too long afterwards, in December 2018, then welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, via surrogate in January 2022.

The source says that, unlike his older brother Joe, 35, whose 5-year marriage to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner imploded and was followed by a nasty trans-Atlantic custody battle in 2023, Nick is fastidiously careful in his relationship with his wife.

“It’s not that he’s ridiculously demanding of Priyanka, it’s that he holds himself to an incredibly high standard as a husband and a partner,” the pal spills. “This is not a person you have to nag to take out the garbage or wash the dirty dishes.”

“To be fair, he’s a bit more of a homebody than Priyanka is – she loves traveling for work and meeting new people, and Nick is somewhat less open to that kind of thing than she is.”

“But he’s also painfully aware of the pitfalls that come with being a former child star and he has honed his work ethic and personal discipline to an extreme degree, because he doesn’t want to become a cautionary tale and he absolutely doesn’t want his marriage to be a casualty of his still-growing fame.”

Nick was recently pictured as happy as could be alongside Priyanka attending his brother-in-law’s wedding in India. Her older brother, Siddharth Chopra, tied the knot with Bollywood actress Neelam Upadhyaya earlier in February. The couple posted pictures of them dancing and celebrating the wedding, just like they did during the three-day extravaganza that was their own in 2018.

It’s not the first time Nick has traveled to India to hang out with his better half’s family. Back in 2018, right after Priyanka met Nick’s folks in New Jersey, he vacationed for a week with her relatives as a source told People their relationship was “getting serious” at the time.

“Priyanka has opened up his world and Nick’s marriage is more precious to him than his career, which is saying a lot for somebody who works as much as Nick does,” the source adds, noting that his big brother Joe, 35, is still serving as a cautionary tale regarding avoiding the pitfalls of a bad marriage. “And, like it or not, Nick learned a ton from the circumstances of the end of Joe’s marriage and he’s doing everything in his power to prevent him and Priyanka from going down that road in any way, shape or form.”
