NEW: Bill Clinton Turns Up At NYC Marathon With Mysterious Bandage
Former President Bill Clinton was spotted near the finish line at the New York City marathon on Sunday with a bandage covering the tip of his nose.
Clinton, 79, turned up at the vaunted marathon to congratulate his daughter, Chelsea, who had participated in the race. The former vice president was joined at the race by his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
A bandage on the tip of his nose was clearly visible in at least two images snapped by Associated Press reporter Angelina Katsanis as he hugged Chelsea following her placement in the event.

The reason for the bandage has not been made clear as of this report, and the former president’s office has yet to issue a formal comment. Clinton’s health has been in the spotlight in recent years, however, as he has dealt with multiple medical challenges over the last two decades.
At age 58, shortly after leaving office, Clinton experienced chest pains and shortness of breath, leading to tests revealing life-threatening coronary artery disease with blockages up to 90 percent in places. He underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital to restore blood flow, prompting him to later adopt a largely plant-based diet for heart health.
A year later in 2005, Clinton suffered a partial collapsed lung, likely relating to scar tissue associated with his heart surgery. Clinton had successful surgery in March 2005 at the same New York hospital to remove fluid and scar tissue from his left lung cavity.
Chest pains returned in 2010, revealing a clogged native coronary artery; doctors inserted two stents during a brief hospitalization to keep the vessel open, with Clinton quickly resuming public activities and crediting his diet for increased energy.
At 79, Clinton has shown visible frailty, including trembling hands, raspy voice, a brief sidewalk stumble in New York, and sightings with a portable external defibrillator vest. He has also had a history of non-melanoma skin cancers and benign cysts treated over the years.
Most recently, in August 2025, Clinton was seen leaving an airport accompanied by individuals carrying what appeared to be a medical device, reportedly a defibrillator, according to a report from Fox News. The sighting prompted renewed concerns over the former president’s health.
