Melania Trump Makes Major Move Ahead Of Her Return To DC
The East Wing is quietly preparing for a return to the spotlight, signaling a new chapter for Melania Trump’s role as First Lady.
First Lady-elect Melania Trump has named Hayley Harrison as her new Chief of Staff. Harrison, a veteran aide with years of experience in White House operations, brings a combination of loyalty, expertise, and institutional knowledge to the role, solidifying her place as a key figure in the Trump administration’s anticipated second term.
The announcement, made via the Office of Melania Trump’s social media account, comes as preparations for the 47th president’s return to the White House gain momentum. “Mrs. Harrison has maintained an integral role and exceptional leadership on the First Lady’s team over the past seven years,” the statement read.
“She has a strong understanding of White House operations, and as Chief of Staff, Mrs. Harrison will oversee and manage the East Wing’s team while strategically liaising with other parts of government.”

This marks the first addition to the East Wing staff under Melania since her husband became President-elect. Stephanie Grisham previously held the position of chief of staff for Melania during the latter part of Trump’s first term, but she stepped down soon after the January 6, 2021, Capitol breach.
The First Lady’s Chief of Staff is a senior advisor responsible for managing the First Lady’s initiatives, public engagements, and office operations. This role involves strategic planning, providing guidance on public relations and policy, and overseeing the First Lady’s staff to ensure smooth operations.
The Chief of Staff coordinates the First Lady’s appearances, speeches, and media outreach while acting as a liaison with government agencies and external organizations. They also handle event planning, from White House functions to public campaigns, supporting the First Lady’s advocacy efforts and ensuring her role as a public figure is effectively managed.
Hayley Harrison and her husband, William ‘Beau’ Harrison, both former Trump White House staffers, have continued their close association with the former president following his departure from office. According to DailyMail, they relocated to Mar-a-Lago along with the Trumps, traveling aboard Marine One on January 20, 2021.
Both Hayleys have been integral to Trump’s post-presidential operations, employed by his Save America PAC. Hayley’s monthly earnings ranged from $8,000 to $10,000. William also drew a similar salary until November 2023, when he received his final payment from the PAC, according to Federal Election Commission reports.
In October, Melania published her memoir titled “Melania,” providing a look into her journey from Slovenia to the global stage. The book covers her early life, modeling career, and tenure as First Lady. It has attracted significant attention, particularly for her candid revelation about being pro-choice, a position that diverges from her husband’s anti-abortion stance.
