Meghan Markle 'Wants to Be Taken More Seriously' With Makeover (EXCL)
Meghan Markle has overhauled her style squad as she struts her stuff all over Hollywood ahead of awards season – as a source outlines how she’s pampering herself like a bona fide superstar and sparing no expense in the process.
As the Duchess of Sussex, 43, continues to move away from the royal family with husband Prince Harry, she’s been seeking celebrity beyond her royal status by marriage. The couple has cozied up to the likes of Oprah and Orlando Bloom of late, making a name for themselves in Hollywood circles with a lifestyle and wine brand, plus documentary work.
The insider, speaking exclusively to Life & Style, notes that by straying from royal tradition and toward more conventional celebrity, “She’s surrounded herself with a very elite group of women, the majority of them have endless bank accounts and only want the best of the best and they’re all telling Meghan she should look, and feel, like the star she is.”
The move to revamp her style makes sense, considering she’s seeking a more independent public image, separate from the princess moniker that had once accompanied the duties she and her husband ditched for more regular stardom.
A second source previously told Life & Style the Duke and Duchess and “have been branching out on their own more and more these days,” and that, while still together romantically and as a family, “They want to be seen as individuals doing good works, not just as a couple. He has his charities, she has hers.”
Rumor has it Meghan’s looking for a glow-up no other industry but Hollywood can provide to start fresh as she launches her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. According to the insider, “That means an A-list hairstylist and she’s got the same team as Julia Roberts. She’s got a head-to-toe designer wardrobe that’s constantly being topped up by her stylist Jamie Mizrahi, who works with a who’s who of Hollywood including Adela and Jennifer Lawrence.”
Jamie, the former Juicy Couture creative director, has previously been spotted dining with the Duchess in 2023. A source told the U.K publication The Mirror that the two “were deep in conversation. It looked like Meghan is going for a restyle and Jamie is the go-to stylist for every Hollywood A-Lister.”
With those exact Hollywood A-listers filling out her friend circle, the source says, “Meghan’s high-flying pals have turned her on to all the best skin care gurus in town and she’s following their lead and spending a fortune on creams and treatments, with weekly facials and spa trips.”
“She’s also treating herself to private Pilates sessions almost daily. Her schedule is packed with beauty treatments, fittings, meetings with top designers, it’s very much the life of an A-list starlet.”
The insider makes sure to note that, while she could have been doted on like the literal princess she is, it wasn’t a cosseted life in the U.K. she was after, but acceptance as an independent shot caller herself. “She’s not leaving anything to chance because she wants to be taken seriously as a big player, and in Hollywood appearance is everything.”
