Megan Rapinoe Breaks Down Over Likelihood of Trump Presidency: “It's Stressful, I'm Nervous”
Former soccer star Megan Rapinoe is whining that former President Donald Trump is supposedly planning a “violent reality” for America when appearing on Wednesday’s A Touch More podcast episode.
The anti-Trump athlete admitted the looming election is stressing her out.
“It is stressful. I am nervous, but I also am hopeful,” Rapinoe said.
“I believe in people, and I certainly believe in women, and I believe that people want better than the grim, dark, just violent reality that Donald Trump has very clearly laid out for us,” she added.
“He’s telling everybody what he’s gonna do, and it’s really dark, and it’s really sad, and I don’t think anybody wants to live like that.”
Rapinoe also said she agrees with San Antonio Spurs coach Greg Popovich, who called Trump “pathetic.”
“I actually really liked what Greg Popovich had to say about Donald Trump,” she said.
“He goes on to basically say you wouldn’t want this guy babysitting your child or working in your small business. He’s small, he’s mean, he makes fun of people,” Repinoe said.
the leftist athlete also whined about Trump’s hugely successful Madison Square Garden rally in New York, calling it “racist.”
“There was a rally at Madison Square Garden where the comedic act, the opening act, [was] just openly racist, openly bigoted, openly xenophobic – saying the most horrible things,” she said.
“You would never allow your kids to say those kinds of things.”
“There’s a level of decency here that I think is being lost in the decisiveness of right, left, and this, that, and the other. I think that’s important.”
Rapinoe’s feud with Trump began in 2019 when she frequently showed disdain for his presidency
It escalated before, during, and after the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, where Rapinoe won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards as the tournament’s top scorer and most valuable player.
Trump responded by trolling Rapinoe on several occasions on social media.
Last year, Repinoe was dumped by lingerie chain Victoria’s Secret, who said its sales took a nose dive after featuring woke soccer as a brand ambassador.
Following the news of poor sales, the company has announced that they’re going back to basics and steering clear of ‘woke’ ad campaigns.
