Maxine Waters Sparks Outrage with Shocking Attack on Melania Trump

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) left even Democrats shocked while speaking at a rally to dismantle the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Veering off script after bashing President Donald Trump’s policies, Waters delivered a vile personal jab at First Lady Melania Trump.

“When he [Trump] talks about birthright, and he’s going to undo the fact that the Constitution allows those who are born here, even if the parents are undocumented, they have a right to stay in America,” Waters said.

“If he wants to start looking so closely to find those who were born here and their parents were undocumented, maybe he ought to first look at Melania.”

Waters then doubled down:

“We don’t know whether or not her parents were documented. And maybe we better just take a look.”

Watch:

Many critics viewed Waters’ remarks as a call for the deportation of the First Lady—even though Melania Trump became a naturalized U.S. citizen way back in 2006.

Born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia (formerly part of Yugoslavia), Melania grew up in the small town of Sevnica, located along the Sava River.

She later launched her modeling career in Slovenia, Paris, and Milan before eventually relocating to New York City in 1996.

She is the second First Lady in U.S. history to be born outside the country, following Louisa Adams, and the only one to become a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Waters was speaking at a rally organized to protest the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, which aims to reduce bureaucratic waste and improve efficiency in federal agencies.

However, Waters sees DOGE as a threat to her established status quo.

“I am not surprised to see reports that Trump, HUD Secretary Scott Turner, and the DOGE Ketamine Klan have plans to decimate the federal agency charged with creating affordable housing, ending homelessness and illegal discrimination, and strengthening communities,” Waters said in a statement last month.

Waters’ remarks center on President Trump’s efforts to challenge birthright citizenship after he signed Executive Order 14160, which aims to curb automatic citizenship for children born in the United States if the mother was in the country illegally or on a temporary visa and the father was neither a U.S. citizen nor a lawful permanent resident.

The executive order was quickly met with legal challenges, with federal judges nationwide declaring it unconstitutional.
