Mason Disick Makes Rare Appearance in Family Holiday Photo
Mason Disick made a rare social media appearance in a holiday family photo shared by his mom, Kourtney Kardashian, on Monday, December 30.
The photo was taken at the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party, which was held at Kendall Jenner‘s home on December 24.
Mason, 15, didn’t crack a smile and was dressed in a black T-shirt and pants as he stood in front of younger sister Penelope Disick. To his right was stepdad Travis Barker, who was holding and kissing son Rocky, whom he shares with Kourtney, 45.
As Travis, 49, and Kourtney have done since their son’s November 1, 2023, birth, they covered up his face, this time using a heart emoji. The Poosh founder had her arm around son Reign Disick, while Travis’ son Landon Barker and former stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya — whose mom is the drummer’s ex-wife Shanna Moakler — rounded out the family photo as they posed in front Kendall’s festive Christmas tree.
Travis’ daughter Alabama Barker seemingly missed the party, even though her birthday was on Christmas Eve. The influencer, 19, later revealed in a December 26 TikTok video that she had the flu and was unable to enjoy her birthday because she was “so sick.”
“‘Twas the night before Christmas,” Kourtney captioned the carousel of Instagram photos, which kicked off with her blended family. Other snapshots included Travis looking adoringly at Rocky, 13 months, as they gazed towards Christmas stockings hanging from Kendall’s fireplace. Another shot included the model, 29, holding a microphone and appearing to be singing karaoke.
Kourtney showed off her edgy sheer black gown while posing next to sister Kim Kardashian in front of the Christmas tree, while also serving face in a shot standing beside Kendall. The Lemme founder smiled brightly for a photobooth picture with stepson Landon, 21, and included other photos showing her mom, Kris Jenner, the matriarch’s longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, and Kris’ good pals Faye Resnick and Cici Bussey.
While Kylie Jenner was at the party, she didn’t appear in any of Kourt’s pictures. Sister Khloé Kardashian was unable to attend as both of her children, True and Tatum Thompson, were ill.
The event was a far cry from the usual celebrity-filled Christmas Eve bashes the family is famous for. Kim, 44, told Vogue ahead of the party that the pared-down affair was due to “a lot of construction going on,” at various family members’ homes, which is why Kendall hosted their 2024 get together at her less-palatial Spanish-style villa in Beverly Hills.
Some fans questioned why Kourtney has gone to great lengths to protect Rocky’s face while showing those of the three children she shares with Scott Disick. “Glad we only care about protecting one kids public image lol,” one person wrote in the comments, while another joked about how they were all dressed in black, and Mason looked over it all.
“Look, it’s the Adams family. Kids look real thrilled, especially Mason. Poor kids,” the user wrote. Another follower snarked, “Mason looks thrilled.”
A source exclusively told Life & Style in August that Kourt was heartbroken that Mason had chosen to live primarily with his dad.
“He’s now made the decision not to live with Kourtney anymore,” the insider spilled. “She is heartbroken over it. While Kourtney is giving Mason space to work through his feelings, at the end of the day, she blames Scott.”
“People have told her it’s just a natural part of life and that Mason will come back to her once he establishes his own identity, but it’s still painful,” the source admitted. “Kourtney’s doing her best to accept that Mason would rather be with Scott right now. She says it’s because he’s a teenage boy who needs his dad, but it’s not easy.”
