MAGA Supporters Fear Trump Could Be Targeted at 'Victory Rally' Before Inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump this week announced he will hold a MAGA victory rally ahead of his inauguration on January 20, which ignited fears he could be targeted before he takes back the White House.

Scheduled for January 19, 2025, the “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” will be held at Capital One Arena, Trump’s inauguration committee confirmed on Wednesday.

The large venue will accommodate around 20,000 spectators, CBS News reported.

“We are incredibly honoured that President Trump will deliver his first rally-style speech since the election at AmFest 2024 in Phoenix,” Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk said in a press release.

“This was already the largest multi-day event in the movement, and this year will be the biggest we’ve ever hosted, by far.”

Semafor reported:

Details on who will appear, such as potential speakers, remain scarce, but it’s unlikely that his Cabinet nominees will take their turn on stage — they have largely avoided doing media appearances and have been directed to stop posting on social media ahead of their confirmation hearings.

That tone would be in line with how the campaign has handled Trump’s top picks, as his advisers seek to minimize controversies and get GOP senators on board.

Despite some supporters expressing joy and excitement for the rally, some appeared a little bit more weary about the safety aspects of the event, given the fact that Trump has already suffered two assassination attempts.

The recent Cybertruck explosion outside Trump’s hotel was not a good sign, given the political nature of the incident, which linked Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Trump.

Many social media users felt the same:

One user said Trump needs to keep a low profile:

“He needs to keep a low profile until he’s sworn in. Forget the rallies. The left has gone absolutely insane.”

Another wrote:

“This is a very bad idea for so many reason. And anyone who goes should think long and hard about what happened on 1/6/21 and how that blew up in peoples’ faces and destroyed their lives. You can’t trust the deep state at this point.”

“I think this is a terrible idea and needs to be addressed. With what we just saw the early hours this morning and the attack in Las Vegas,we need to be careful announcing where big crowds will be. This is NOT safe!!!!” a further user warned.
