Lowe’s to close all stores for Easter Sunday
“In recognition of our teams’ continued hard work, we are pleased to provide a well-deserved day off so they can spend Easter with their loved ones.”
Home improvement store chain Lowe’s will be closing all its stores across the nation for Easter Sunday later in April. This marks the fifth year that Lowe’s has joined other major chains in closing for the holiday. This year, Easter will take place on April 20.
According to Fox 5, the store said that the closure is an effort to show appreciation for the company’s workers and their “continued dedication to serving customers.”
Marvin Ellison, Lowe’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement, “I’m extremely proud of the commitment of our 300,000 associates who support our communities while providing excellent customer service not only in spring – but all year-round. In recognition of our teams’ continued hard work, we are pleased to provide a well-deserved day off so they can spend Easter with their loved ones.”
All of the chain’s over 1,700 locations, as well as their call centers, will be closed. Other stores that will be closed on Easter Sunday are Target, Costco, Aldi, Best Buy, and Sam’s Club. Stores remaining open for the holiday include Walmart, Dollar General, Home Depot, Trader Joe’s, CVS, and more, per AL.com.
