Love Is Blind’s Tim Godbee and Alexandra Byrd called it quits after a disastrous meeting with Tim’s parents in the newest episodes of the popular reality dating show. Tim and Alex had an onscreen argument that resulted in Tim pulling the plug on their engagement.

“There’s a lot I could respond to, but there is no scenario that I see myself standing there and saying yes to making you my wife forever,” Tim, 33, said during a heated conversation with Alex, 33. “And with that in mind, and I’m glad that we can at least agree, that I don’t ever want to see you again.”

The relationship went south quickly after Tim’s parents drove “10 hours” to meet Alex for the first time during episode 10. The meeting seemed to go well, but apparently, quite a bit of drama happened behind the scenes. When Tim sat down to talk with Alex later in the episode, he revealed he was upset that she decided to take a nap after interacting with his parents.

“Some things happened in regards to my parents that I didn’t really appreciate,” Tim began. “I understood you were sleepy but my parents drove 10 hours here to meet you. As soon as the cameras cut, you decided to go to sleep at the first opportunity. These are the most important people in my life, and all I have left in this world, and the choice you made in that moment was to go to sleep.”

Tim added that Alex’s decision to take a nap was something he was “not OK” with, but she wanted to take a minute to explain.

“I was exhausted and I like to take my naps. We talked for hours about you, about what I would be to them as a vessel, as someone to lean on,” Alex said. “If it really meant that [much] to you, I would have stayed up.”

Tim pointed out that he had been trying to “communicate” with Alex throughout the day, but she claimed that they didn’t talk very much during the time frame. He also claimed that Alex was “asleep for most of the day,” but Alex responded by saying that her nap only lasted “an hour.” The two Love Is Blind stars continued to disagree about the details of their conversations the previous day, and Tim voiced his displeasure with the lack of communication from Alex.

The conversation only went downhill from there. Tim pointed out all the hard work he put into making a meal for Alex’s family and added that when he got home he did the dishes, as Alex hadn’t done them yet. She shot back with the accusation that Tim was trying to say she “hadn’t put in any work,” but the former lovebird’s relationship had hit the point of no return.

Alex seemed to be at a loss for words as Tim took his leave, but he apparently had no regrets as he donned his coat and hit the road.

When the Love Is Blind season 7 cast attended a 1920s-themed party later in the episode, Alex opened up to her friends about their breakup.

“Look, I’m not mad that he wanted to end things,” Alex told costars Hannah Jiles and Ashley Adionser during the event. “But for you to end this engagement when you shook my father’s hand and looked him in the eye and said, ‘I wanna marry your daughter,’ you’re a coward.”

The Love Is Blind season 7 finale premieres on October 23, and the reunion will hit Netflix on October 30.
