Letitia James Melts Down as She Suffers Consequences of Waging Legal War Against Trump
New York Attorney General Letitia James is suffering the consequences of waging lawfare tactics against President Donald Trump as she now finds herself on the receiving end.
During a recent press conference, James broke down over the Trump administration’s decision to halt payments to the state of New York, describing it as: “Unacceptable, unconstitutional, ultra-bias. They have exceeded their authority.”
“It is important that Attorneys General representing our respective states stand up and enforce the rule of law. The Treasury and the President of these United States are not above the law,” James said.
James failed to bring Trump down in 2024, and now she is faced with the reality of being entangled in trouble of her own.
Recently, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice filed charges against New York Governor Kathy Hochul, James, and DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder for failing to enforce immigration law while supporting controversial sanctuary policies.
Bondi said the safety of American citizens and holding state officials accountable is now the priority.
James’ meltdown came ahead of a court hearing on Friday, where state attorneys general will attempt to block Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department records and exposing fraud.
James is now desperately trying to keep her legal battles from spiraling out of control.

Attorneys general from 18 states are now targeting Musk and DOGE for access to personal data and filing lawsuits against the Trump administration.
James and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong initiated the lawsuit, filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., on February 7.
The lawsuit alleges DOGE legally accessed the Treasury Department’s central payment system, arguing such actions should only be executed by a government official nominated and confirmed by the Senate.
James vehemently criticized Musk’s actions during the press conference on Friday.
“Elon was not voted in by the people,” James said, according to AMNY.
“The American people deserve better. We will be in the courthouse time and time again. The American people will not back down.”

U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas in Manhattan decided to maintain a temporary restraining order on Musk’s initiative, preventing access to Treasury Department systems that handle trillions of dollars in payments.
