Laguna Beach Stars Reunite at 20th High School Reunion
Brace yourselves, Lauren “LC” Conrad and some of her Laguna Beach classmates reunited for their 20th high school reunion on Saturday, November 30.
Lauren, 38, who later landed The Hills spinoff, posed for photos alongside former costars Trey Phillips and Dieter Schmitz in front of a beachside California sunset. In addition to sharing the photos to her Instagram Stories, Lauren also shared photo booth moments with longtime friends Morgan Smith, Christine Sinclair and ex-boyfriend Stephen Colletti.
In September, Talan Torriero celebrated the 20-year debut of the series via TikTok.
“When life was so easy! Can’t believe it’s been 20 years!” one fan commented under the post, to which Talan, 38, replied, “So much easier.”
At the Laguna Beach reunion, Kristin Cavallari was noticeably absent. However, she graduated one year after Lauren’s class in 2005. Kristin, 37, and Lauren’s feud over the heart of Stephen, 38, was the teen love triangle for the ages. However, the Uncommon James founder later admitted her true feelings about their televised adolescent drama.
“I will say the fact that Lauren Conrad and I really went after each other is so messed up,” Kristin said during a July 2022 episode of her and Stephen’s now-defunct podcast, “Back to the Beach.”
Kristin later reflected on her behavior in the podcast episode, saying, “I remember saying I don’t really know who I am. I don’t think I’m this girl on the show, but I know I don’t want to be this girl on the show. It made me look inward and really figure out who the heck I was. I do feel like the show made me grow up and probably get my s–t together and not make me such a little brat.”
Four months later, Lauren sat down with Kristin and Stephen for an epic podcast episode. After revealing that they didn’t actually have overlapping relationships as portrayed on the show, they dished that they had often seen each other over the years.
“My take on it is, you and I never really had any beef. I mean, obviously there was, like, a little truth to what happened with the three of us. But I felt like MTV coming kept it alive and made it way worse than it ever would have been. Is that also your take?” Kristin asked Lauren about their love triangle feud.
“I don’t think we were, like, best friends, but we were like, ‘It’s fine,’” Lauren replied, noting that she and Kristin got in a fight and made up before filming started. “We had an issue with each other but it had been squashed… I think what happened is they kind of saw this as a starting point, and then they ran with it.”
Stephen, for his part, shared his frustration about the curated debacle, especially because it seemed like he cheated on Kristin with Lauren.
“And that’s, I think, the nuts and bolts of the show is they had stories and naive kids learning about what is going on in their lives and really setting up those situations for it to kind of thrive again,” the One Tree Hill alum said of production during an August 2022 episode of the podcast. “Or you know, finding a way to have a friend, ask a question or getting you to talk about something similar or talk about it in this way. And us having no idea that they could pull certain parts of our sentences and then put them together.”
