Lady Gaga Wants 'to Get Pregnant This Year' With Michael Polansky (EXCL)
Lady Gaga has been opening up in detail about how she’ll raise the kids she plans to have one day with fiancée Michael Polansky and a source exclusively tells Life & Style her calm and healthy lifestyle is all part of her preparation for when her parenting dream becomes a reality.
“Gaga can’t wait to have a family with Michael, they’re such a great team, she knows that they’ll be excellent parents together,” the insider says.
The “Poker Face” singer, 38, discussed her thoughts on family and children with Elle, in an article published on January 28. She compared family to “the roots of the tree,” before explaining her metaphor, saying, “They grow long, and sometimes they’re mangled, and sometimes they’re full of water, and sometimes they’re thirsty. Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change.”
Going on to describe how she hopes her future children see her and her work, the American Horror Story actress added, “I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them. I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me.”
The insider notes that Lady Gaga has had long talks with her entrepreneur beau, Michael, 46, about how they want to raise their children.
“They’re already really clear that they won’t be super strict parents with lots of random rules,” the source says.
In her interview, Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, confirmed that giving their kids the space they need to make mistakes and learn from them, without pressuring them to be or think a certain way, is of the utmost importance to the couple.
“That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot,” the “Bad Romance” singer said. “Allowing our kids to be their own people. It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. And they’re told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat … I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”
The source adds Michael is essential to Lady Gaga’s desire to parent her children this way. “In some ways, finding such a great partner was Gaga’s first step towards being a good mom,” the insider says.
“She and Michael are stable and drama free, which is the sort of environment she wants for her kids,” the source continues, “and the same goes for the way she treats her body, she’s very intentional about what goes into it, about how much sleep she gets, and even the sort of energy she lets into her mental space.”
“She and Michael have so much planned out, even where they want to put the nursery and the interior they want, which will of course be free of any gender stereotyping.”
“She’s also reading and learning a lot about the latest parenting research, like most new parents she wants as much information as she can get going into this. Her wish is to get pregnant this year but they’re not pressuring things.”
