Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are talking about a wedding and babies, but a source exclusively tells Life & Style no formal plans can go forward until they’ve figured out a compromise over money — with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line.
“Kylie has her heart set on marrying Timothée, he’s become this prize that she has to capture,” the insider says.
In addition to Kylie finding Mr. Right, her momager Kris Jenner has been desperate to infuse the family’s show with a little more life and pump ratings, and one way would definitely be a Kylie and Timothée wedding plot. But despite Kris’ reputation for chasing viewers at all costs, there will still be strings attached if her daughter is going to get married.
“Her mom is salivating and all for it, with one huge stipulation, she needs to protect her bank account,” the source explains. “Timothée is obviously very rich by most people’s standards, but his net worth is a fraction of hers and Kris is very clear that has to be taken into consideration with an iron clad prenup.”
Through his acting work and sponsorships, notably starring in the high-budget Dune series and becoming new face of Bleu de Chanel, Timothée’s racked up an estimated net worth of $25 million, though it’s expected to climb much higher as the 29-year-old actor continues his domination of Hollywood. It’s still outweighed a bit by Kylie’s net worth: estimated to be between $700 million and $1 billion.
The source adds that the youngest Jenner daughter is known to be a bit loose with her cash, even if she has more than enough to throw around. While she “can be extremely impulsive when it comes to her money,” she can afford to hand out goodies to her friends when she wants and whisk herself off on vacation as she pleases, but those expenses are trifling when compared to a messy divorce. “She’s by far the most generous out of all the girls, sometimes to the point of being reckless, at least as far as her mom’s concerned.”
“Kris worries she might do something crazy and run off and marry him before they can get this agreement signed,” the source adds. “ That’s why there’s a big rush to get it drawn up.”
As Life & Style previously reported, the Call Me by Your Name actor is gearing up to find the right moment to propose, while sorting things out on the legal side with his soon-to-be fiancée’s mom. “They’re not hedging that kind of talk or beating around the bush about it — it’s right out there in the open among their personal circle that an engagement is going to happen, sooner rather than later,” a second source previously said.
The first source assures, “He hasn’t proposed,” just yet, “but it’s being worked on by lawyers so that it will be ready the moment he does. And in the meantime, Kris is reminding Kylie almost daily not to do anything rash.”
