Khloe Kardashian's ‘Scary’ Christmas Experience With Daughter True
Khloé Kardashian revealed she missed her family’s annual Christmas Eve party because her daughter, True Thompson, had a “really scary,” high fever.
“I didn’t get to make it to the Christmas Eve party, which was a bummer,” Khloe, 40, informed her fans via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 26. “But it wasn’t really a party this year—it was just us hanging out at Kendall’s house, but still I missed being with my family.”
The Hulu personality said the illness began with her younger son, Tatum Thompson, who was “super sick the weekend before.”
“But now he’s perfect and great. He was great for Christmas Eve and all that,” Khloé continued. However, she noted that True, 6, had a tough day on Christmas, choosing to sleep in a different room while the family gathered at Kris Jenner’s home.
“True has had a 105 fever,” she explained. “It was really scary. It was horrible, but now she just started feeling better. Yesterday we still all hung out at my mom’s. She was sleeping in another room while I was cooking breakfast and all that, because we still wanted to be around the Christmas spirit.”
True was feeling so unwell that they chose to delay opening her gifts until the day after Christmas. “We’re just doing Santa toys today, because she just wasn’t in the mood yesterday, poor thing,” the KUWTK alum concluded. “That’s when you know your kid is sick, when Santa toys don’t even excite them. Poor, poor thing. I’m so excited she’s feeling better!”
The Kardashian-Jenner’s are known for their extravagant, over-the-top Christmas parties, a tradition started by matriarch Kris, 69. The momager famously passed the baton to Kim Kardashian during a June 2019 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
“I want you guys to be able to do this until you’re my age and one of your kids takes over. That’s the joy,” Kris told Kim, 44, at the time. “It’s just the thought of actually not doing at my house. … I’m getting emotional. It makes me sad. It does. It makes me so sad. It’s just that magic that you can make, and make everybody feel so amazing on one night a year. It’s that love … It’s not just a party. It’s changing of the guards.”
After receiving her mom’s “blessing,” Kim proceeded to explain her decision to take charge of the party planning.
“Our Christmas Eve party was always this fun party that I just remember being friends and family and my grandparents and cousins. It was just the best night ever,” she shared in a confessional. “But my mom’s been doing it for so long that it’s turned into something different. It’s kind of a party just for my mom and mostly her friends. We want it to be a place that we can just have fun and it’s all of our friends and definitely family and my mom’s friends, too. But a good mix of both so we can have a good time and really just enjoy each other.”
