Kelly Clarkson has been opening up about her desire to find love again, but a source exclusively tells Life & Style that she’s refusing to put pressure on herself and is happy to wait as long as it takes for Mr. Right to eventually come along.

“Kelly is not obsessing about finding a boyfriend, she has an extremely full plate so it’s not as though she’s sitting around by herself moping about being single,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “That being said, she does admit that she’d love to meet someone special, it’s just a question of how to make it happen.”

The source adds that Kelly, 43, “doesn’t want to go on dating sites and she doesn’t want to hire a matchmaker, or slide into other celebrities’ DM’s” because “she’s far too shy to pull something like that off.”

“She is quietly hoping that someone famous might try that with her, she’d love to be pursued,” the insider continues. “She’s joked that she should do her own version of the Bachelorette as a segment on her show to try and find love, but of course she’d never do that.”

The source says, “At this point, all she can really do is try and put the word out that she’s dating and hope someone she knows sets her up with a decent guy. She does meet a lot of people herself, so it could also happen organically, she’s certainly hoping it will.”

Kelly hasn’t been in a public relationship since she finalized her divorced ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in March 2022. The former couple share daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9.

The “Since U Been Gone” singer previously shared a rare insight into her love life during the May 6 episode of Today, where she said she was hoping for her “unicorn moment.”

“Yeah, I mean, I hope it does!” she told Jenna Bush Hager and guest cohost Matt Rogers about meeting a potential partner. “I will say, I’m not not looking and I’m not looking. I’m very busy. You get this as a mom. I’ve got to focus right now. There’s a lot of work.”

Kelly then further elaborated about not having much free time as the single mother of two kids. “I’m running from my show to baseball practice and I’m trying to be just there. It’s a lot. My mom will tell me, ‘Look, I was a single mom. I didn’t get to make everything. They’re gonna be fine. You turned out fine,’” she explained before adding that she wanted to make more time for herself in the future.

Meanwhile, an additional source exclusively told Life & Style on May 21 that Kelly has become more open to dating now that her divorce from Brandon, 48, is in the past.

“Kelly seems to be slowly warming up to the idea of dating,” the insider said, adding that Kelly and Brandon’s legal battles over money, property and custody “took a big toll” on them. “She was truly traumatized by it all. But now Kelly appears to have her confidence back. She’s in a good place.”
