Kate Middleton Reveals Update On Her Battle With Cancer In Emotional Video
In an emotional video released Monday on X, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, gave a major update on her ongoing battle with cancer. The message, shared alongside her family, marked a significant milestone in her health journey, with the Princess announcing the completion of her chemotherapy treatment after nine grueling months.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Middleton said in her video. Her words were filled with both relief and reflection as she detailed the intense challenges she and her family have faced during this difficult time.
Middleton, who is known for her poised and strong public persona, allowed a rare glimpse into the personal hardships her family has endured since her diagnosis. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,” she shared. “The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”
“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” she explained. “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

While her chemotherapy may be behind her, Middleton made it clear that the battle is far from over. “Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” she explained. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
The Princess also shared that she’s eager to return to public life but remains realistic about her recovery timeline. “I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.”
“To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.” The Princess of Wales announced on March 22nd that she had been diagnosed with cancer following post-operative tests.
The palace confirmed that she had begun chemotherapy treatments since late February. In June 2024, Middleton made her first public appearance after her diagnosis during the Trooping the Colour event, having revealed in a letter distributed by Kensington Palace just the day before that she was still undergoing cancer treatment. Over the subsequent months, she continued to make occasional public appearances amidst her treatment regimen.
