Kamala Harris Promotes Population Control: We Need to “Reduce Population”

0

Days after Vice President Kamala Harris was named the Democratic presidential nominee, a July 2023 video clip of her advocating “reducing population” made its rounds on social media.

“When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water,” Harris clearly said in the clip.

The vice president delivered the remarks on July 14, 2023, at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland as part of a speech on “Combatting Climate Change and Building a Clean Energy Economy.”

At the time, critics quickly took to X (then known as Twitter) and slammed Harris’ choice of words.

Meanwhile, the White House responded by issuing a correction of its official transcript of Harris’ remarks – suggesting that she meant to say “pollution” instead of “population.” Critics dismissed the White House’s claim as “damage control.”

Although the video had been mostly out of public memory for over a year, it went viral this Friday on X for a second time – again eliciting a string of criticism.

“When we do what?” asked Defiant L’s in response to the clip of Harris. Defiant L’s is a popular X account known for highlighting controversial statements made by left-wing figures.

Actress Patricia Heaton answered the account’s question, pointing out that Harris clearly said the words “reduce population.”

Heaton, a pro-life Catholic and mother of four, is perhaps best known for starring in the long-running TV sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond.”

She is a registered independent who has in the past been critical of Harris’ opponent former President Donald Trump.

The X account for the media outlet “Conservative Brief” asked: “What exactly ARE [Harris’] plans for us if she becomes President?!”

Another user wrote that Harris “said the quiet part out loud.”

This is not the first time the Biden-Harris administration has been accused of supporting a population-control agenda.

In June 2021, CatholicVote reported that Tracy Stone-Manning – who at the time was the administration’s nominee for Bureau of Land Management Director – “once wrote that Americans ‘breed’ too much.”

CatholicVote noted that in Stone-Manning’s 1992 graduate thesis, she

called American children “environmental hazards,” and stated that U.S. citizens should stop “at one or two kids” for the sake of the environment.

In the thesis, Stone-Manning presented a photograph of a baby along with the question: “Can you find the environmental hazard in this photo?”

“That’s right, it’s the cute baby,” wrote Stone-Manning, adding that each new American child will “gobble up” more of the earth’s resources than children from other industrialized nations.

Three months later, the Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate confirmed Stone-Manning via a party-line vote.
