JUST IN: Trump Rips Elon Musk Over ‘Train Wreck’ Third Party Idea

President Donald Trump took the gloves off and responded to tech billionaire Elon Musk’s plans to start a new political party after an ongoing, five-week temper tantrum over the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, which enacted a number of the president’s most important campaign promises.

On Saturday, Musk announced that he will be forming the “America Party” after vowing to do so if the Big Beautiful Bill was passed. The X, Space X and Tesla chief then left it up to a poll — which was open to the entire world — on the Fourth of July, which resulted in 60 percent of respondents agreeing with the idea.

A day later, Musk and Tesla CFO Vaibhav Teneja filed to register the “America Party” with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). The tech billionaire has hinted that he will be targeting a handful of House races and two Senate seats in a move that is likely to hurt Republicans and deliver Congress to Democrats.

After offering an olive branch and wishing him well after the previous meltdown, in which Musk baselessly accused Trump of being a pedophile, the president stated that his former ally has become a “train wreck” after the latest flare-up.

“I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks,” the president posted on Truth Social. “He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them. The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!”

While Musk has claimed his opposition to the bill was over national debt increases, President Trump, as well as a number of senior White House sources, have long contended that the rollback of Biden era electric vehicle subsidies is the true source of Musk’s rage.

“It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time. I have been strongly opposed to that from the very beginning. People are now allowed to buy whatever they want – Gasoline Powered, Hybrids (which are doing very well), or New Technologies as they come about – No more EV Mandate. I have campaigned on this for two years,” Trump continued.

“And, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate – It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that – I was very surprised!”

Musk seemingly confirmed that he was enraged over the loss of subsidies in a June 5 X post. “Whatever. Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!),” Musk continued before again claiming his concerns are primarily over the national debt.

The president then revealed that his decision to pull the nomination of Jared Isaacman, a close associate of Musk’s who had been nominated to lead NASA, further enraged the tech billionaire. “Additionally, Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA and, while I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blooded Democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before,” Trump wrote.

“Elon probably was, also. I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elon’s corporate life.”

The post concluded, “My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!”
