JUST IN: Powerful DNC Official Turns On Party, Ditches Democrats
A powerhouse fundraiser who has supported the Democratic National Committee for years is leaving the party for good. She says she has never been so ostracized as in recent weeks after criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris following the election.
Linda Li, a former member of the DNC’s National Finance Committee who helped raise an eye-popping $1 billion for Harris’s three-month campaign, has since the election labeled the whole endeavor a “$1 billion disaster” and questioned how the Democratic nominee ended the election $20 million in the red. “The truth is this is just an epic disaster, this is a $1 billion disaster,” she told “Fox & Friends” last month. “They’re $20 million or $18 million in debt. It’s incredible, and I raised millions of that. I have friends I have to be accountable to and explain what happened because I told them it was a margin-of-error race,” she added.

Now, after weeks of backbiting by members of her own party, Li is ditching the Democrats and kicking her former colleagues on the way out, calling the party a “cult” that is too quick to cancel individuals who fall out of orthodoxy. Li garnered headlines earlier this month for speaking favorably about Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of defense. “They’re shrinking their tent. They’re basically pushing me to bring my tens of millions of dollars that I’ve raised and can continue to raise to a different team that treats me better, that treats me with common decency,” Li said.
“This past week has been harrowing for me,” Li told Piers Morgan, Fox News reported. “This Saturday, I went on ‘Fox & Friends,’ and I said, ‘Democrats have a stench of loser hanging over them.’ As soon as I said that, there were boycott campaigns against me. Unblock, unfollow campaigns.” Her comments built on earlier ones where she told the “Fox & Friends” cast that Harris is “indulging in delusions” if she thinks she can return as the party’s nominee in 2028.
Li’s observations have sparked a deluge of deeply personal attacks against her, she went on. “People have called me a whore, the ‘C-word.’ They asked for me to be deported…,” she revealed. One Democrat made the racist quip that Li must be a “communist spy,” an especially offensive comment to Li given her Chinese-American heritage. “They’re calling me a spy for the regime that killed my great-grandfather and these are the people who call themselves the social justice warriors,” she told Morgan. “They’re going headfirst into racism anytime someone dares to disagree with them. I want to be a part of the team that says men are men and women are women and men shouldn’t play in women’s sports.”
Only in defeat, Li explained, has the mask of the tolerant left been lifted. “All these so-called Democrats, the party of inclusion, the party of diversity, masks off. And it’s even worse because they pretend to occupy the moral high ground,” she said. “They pretend to be so loving and caring and embracing of diversity but all of a sudden, when I dare to utter any criticisms of the goddess Kamala Harris, I get ostracized. Me, after having raised tens of millions of dollars for the party.”
She continued, “My donors are pissed…it’s my responsibility to ask what the hell happened with their money…these are legitimate questions, but no, in the cult, you can’t ask questions. And leaving the Democratic Party or even questioning the Democratic Party is like leaving a cult. It’s terrifying. I don’t want to be a part of this craziness anymore. They’re accelerating my rightward shift.”
