JUST IN: Democrat Governor’s Aide Caught Trafficking Cocaine By means of Her Workplace

A senior aide to Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey was busted in a stunning drug-running scheme — with cops snagging eight kilos of cocaine supposedly headed straight into a state office building.

LaMar Cook, the deputy director of Healey’s western Massachusetts office since 2023, is now facing charges of trafficking more than 200 grams of cocaine, illegal gun possession, and unlawful ammo possession, Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni announced Wednesday. In reality, investigators say they’ve seized around 21 kilos tied to the case.

Cook’s downfall came after a Tuesday traffic stop — just days after authorities pulled off a “controlled delivery operation” of eight bricks of coke to the Springfield State Office Building, where the Healey staffer worked.

His arrest also connects to 13 kilos intercepted at Hotel UMass in Amherst, where Cook previously worked.

“Evidence collected during that operation was consistent with the narcotics recovered during the most recent controlled delivery in Springfield,” Gulluni said.

Cook, 45, pleaded not guilty in Springfield District Court and got slapped with $25,000 bail.

On LinkedIn, the alleged drug trafficker bragged, “As the Western Massachusetts Director for Governor Maura Healey, I serve as a key liaison between the state government and the western region of Massachusetts,” adding that he coordinated government policy across four counties.

Healey’s office kicked him to the curb immediately after the bust.

“The governor’s office has been made aware of the arrest of an employee, Lamar Cook. The conduct that occurred here is unacceptable and represents a major breach of the public trust,” Healey’s spokesperson told Boston 25 News, adding, “Mr. Cook has been terminated from his position effective immediately.”

“This criminal investigation is ongoing, and our administration will work with law enforcement to assist them in their work,” the statement continued.

Republicans eyeing the 2026 governor’s race seized on the scandal immediately.

“Healey has lost control of every aspect of her administration,” GOP hopeful Mike Kennealy blasted on X. “When I’m Governor, we’ll clean up the mess that Maura Healey created.”

Brian Shortsleeve, the former MBTA chief, didn’t hold back either. “A top aide to Gov. Maura Healey is a drug trafficker. This is beyond shocking,” he wrote. “This is a reflection not just on our governor and her failed leadership and management skills, but on our entire state, and we shouldn’t tolerate it. Gov. Healey owes Massachusetts an explanation.”

Healey’s office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
