Josh Hall Reflects on 'Tough Year' Amid Christina Hall Divorce
Josh Hall looked back on his 2024, and admitted that there were many challenging moments amid his divorce from his estranged wife, Christina Haack (formerly known as Christina Hall).
“2024 was a tough year but it’s taught me a lot. It helped me grow and be stronger than I’ve ever been,” Josh, 44, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, January 1, alongside a photo of himself lounging in a pool with his back to the camera. “Sometimes the tough situations can change you. You end up becoming a different person. A better version of yourself.”
Josh went on to note that tough situations force you to “learn things about yourself you didn’t know before.”
“It has opened my eyes to many things. Even though it was tough, I know that it taught me many lessons and for that I’m grateful,” the TV personality continued. “I always tell myself that God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.”
After reflecting on the difficult moments from 2024, Josh added that the year “wasn’t all bad.”
“In these tough situations, I realized who is really there for you. These people become your pillars in life. They stand by you. They understand when you need space. They’ve got you even if it at this moment in time, you don’t have them,” he wrote. “I will forever be grateful for my community who continue to love me, support me and those special ones who came into my life.”
Josh wrapped up the lengthy post by explaining he’s hopeful for the changes that will come in the new year. “Here’s to 2025, a new year, a fresh start and a chance to write a new book with some new beginnings. This WILL be my best year yet …” he said.
After tying the knot in 2022, Josh filed for divorce from Christina, 41, in July 2024. One day later, she followed suit by filing her own paperwork.
Fans will get a glimpse into the final months of their marriage when HGTV’s The Flip Off premieres on January 29. The show features the former couple going up against Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, as they compete in a house flipping competition. However, Josh was let go of the show after he and Christina filed for divorce.
In a teaser clip for the upcoming series, Josh and Christina were seen having a tense argument during a car ride. Josh had a mostly one-sided conversation before he told Christina to “shut up.”
“This is a competition. We gotta pull out all stops. Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do it. Halls rule!” Josh told Christina as she quietly sat in the passenger seat. “You’re supposed to say it with me, or repeat it, or something that shows that you’re with me.”
Christina remained silent as he continued, “Remember you’re a Hall now. Don’t get confused in this competition about what your last name is.”
Josh went on to call Christine “rude” for not responding to him, and she replied, “I don’t over talk.”
