Joran van der Sloot FINALLY confesses to killing Natalee Holloway
Convicted killer Joran van der Sloot has finally confessed to the slaying of Natalee Holloway.
The sadistic murderer was in court in Alabama on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to extorting and defrauding the Holloway family after being accused of trying to sell information about the location of Holloway’s remains in exchange for $250,000, CNN reported. Holloway’s body has never been recovered.
According to the grisly confession, van der Sloot caved Holloway’s face in with a cinder block when she rejected his sexual advances — his confession came in a proffer to the court, which is when a defendant gives up information they know about a crime, often as part of a plea deal, according to the network. He reportedly passed a polygraph test, but has not been charged in the killing.
Holloway’s mother, Beth Holloway, told reporters that he could not be tried in the U.S. for the murder.
“It’s over. Joran van der Sloot is no longer the suspect in my daughter’s murder. He is the killer,” she said. “After 18 years, Natalie’s case is solved.”
Interviewed on Oct. 3. van der Sloot said he was angry with Holloway for resisting him and kicked her in the face, before spotting the cinder block.
“I smash her head in with it completely,” he added. “Her face basically, you know, collapses in. Even though it’s dark, I can see her face is collapsed in.”
As for what happened to her body, van der Sloot said he dragged her into the ocean until he was knee-deep and pushed her off “into the sea.”
The confession can be seen below, in part:
“He said that after killing her on the beach in Aruba, he put her into the water and that was the last that he ever saw her,” Beth Holloway told reporters. “… I’m satisfied knowing that he did it, he did it alone and he disposed of her alone.”
Van der Sloot was sentenced to 20 years in prison Wednesday, to run concurrently with his 28-year sentence for murdering a young Peruvian woman he met at a Lima casino.
“I have considered your confession to the brutal murder of Natalee Holloway,” the judge said after reading van der Sloot’s proffer, according to CNN. “You have brutally murdered in separate incidents years apart two beautiful women who refused your sexual advances.”
