John Kerry Admits Trump Was Right: ‘You Have to Have a Border’

Former President Joe Biden’s climate czar, John Kerry, has admitted that President Donald Trump was “right” concerning the southern border.

“The first thing any president should say, any president, or anybody in public life, is, without a border protected, you don’t have a nation — I believe that,” Kerry explained on the BBC’s “Reflections” podcast.

“If you’re going to define your nation, you have to have a border that means something,” he added.

“We have a system. I wish President Biden had been heard more often saying, ‘I’m going to enforce the law.’”

Kerry, who served as the Secretary of State under Obama, seems to be slowly aligning with Trump.

When James Naughtie, a BBC correspondent, stated during the interview that President Trump would point out Kerry’s comments and say he was correct on the issue, Kerry replied, “He was right.”

“The problem is we all should have been right. Everybody should have been right, doing the same thing, all moving in the same direction.”

Kerry added that he told Biden the Democratic Party struck out on the issue of immigration.

“They just allowed the border to continue to be sieged, under siege,” Kerry stated plainly.

He went on to note the Biden-era immigration bill supported by Democrats, which several GOP members and Trump opposed.

Naughtie asked Kerry if Biden would have been helped by announcing earlier that he was not going to run for re-election, instead of dropping out due to pressure from other Democrats.

“I think in retrospect that’s pretty clear, it answers itself,” Kerry told Naughtie.

“He’s my friend, and he did a hell of a job. I don’t think he’s gotten enough credit for what a great president he was,” he went on to say.

Trump has made the issue of immigration a focal point in his second term in the White House, with the administration launching a series of mass deportation operations around the country.

Fox News reported:

“Between June 1 and June 22, there were 5,414 apprehensions at the border, with the busiest sector being El Paso, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. During that same timeframe, there have been 986 known ‘gotaways.’ Both numbers are the lowest ever recorded.”

Earlier this year in May, there were just under 9,000 apprehensions of illegal aliens at the border.

This was down from the 118,000 the previous year under Biden’s presidency.
