Jessica Simpson Has a ‘Master Plan’ for a Comeback in Showbiz
Jessica Simpson has fans and friends all worked up with social posts where she’s almost unrecognizable. A source exclusively reveals to Life & Style how she’s radically changing her life without taking any notice of the noise around her that’s getting increasingly deafening by the day.
“Jessica has some kind of master plan around changing her appearance so aggressively, but she’s not sharing that plan with anybody and is marching to the beat of her own drum with the procedures and adjustments she’s making to her look,” the insider says. “Jessica hates aging and has the resources and taste to reverse that process, even if it’s through her own fun-house mirror.”
The source adds that the Dukes of Hazzard star “sees a third act for herself in showbiz” that includes “more music, more acting and a reality show.”
“Everything’s on the table. She does not want this next chapter of her career to strictly be defined by her business/apparel success,” the insider explains. “Jessica wants to be a star again, and she needs to look the part. It may come across as a little desperate to some, but Jessica has dragged herself through hell to get to the point where nobody can tell her what to do, and she’s really charting her own course at the moment. Her surgical ‘new look’ is a key part of that, and she thinks it’s working.”
Rumors have been swirling for months that the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer and her husband, Eric Johnson, aren’t on the best terms and a divorce might be in the works. She had fans raising their eyebrows when she didn’t wish Eric, 45, a happy birthday on social media for his big day.
A source previously told Life & Style that some of their underlying issues revolve around Jessica’s career aspirations.
“Jessica relocated to Nashville to work on new music while Eric mostly stayed in L.A. with the kids,” the insider said in September 2024. “They went into it with a plan, but as time went on, it created a lot of tension. Eric felt abandoned, while Jess felt she wasn’t asking too much, and neither saw the other’s point of view. Jessica is gearing up for a comeback and filming a docuseries chronicling her return to music, but Eric is private and not sure he wants to be a part of something as public as that.”
However, the change in Jessica’s looks hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans. On December 12, 2024, the “I Think I’m in Love With You” artist shared a photo on Instagram that had fans doing a double take.
“I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul,” Jessica wrote alongside the photo of herself sitting next to music equipment in a short white skirt and boots.
She was noticeably thinner and social media users expressed their confusion in the comments.
“Girl who is this?” wrote one person, while another added, “I don’t even recognize this person.”
A third person chimed in and said, “Doesn’t even look like the same person anymore, nowhere close.”
