Is Scott Glenn in The White Lotus Season 3? Actor Plays Jim Hollinger
The White Lotus season 3 finally introduced the mysterious character of Jim Hollinger at the end of episode 6. Life & Style breaks down actor Scott Glenn‘s appearance and what’s in store for the season’s final episodes.
Is Scott Glenn in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3?
Yes. Viewers finally got their first, albeit blurry, look at Scott as he walked down the stairs of his Bangkok, Thailand, home in the final scene of episode 6, which aired on March 23, 2025. His iconic voice was heard, as Walton Goggin‘s Rick Hatchett looked quite shaken and slowly walked in Jim’s direction.
Scott’s casting was announced in February 2024, although at the time, his role and the season’s plotline was being kept under wraps.
Who Is Jim Hollinger on ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3?
Jim is the owner of The White Lotus resort in Thailand along with his wife, glamorous former Thai movie star Sritala Hollinger, played by Lek Patravadi.
While Sritala was featured throughout season 3 of The White Lotus, even performing an upbeat song during one of the resort’s shows, Jim suffered a stroke prior to the season’s timeline starting and was recuperating at the couple’s home in Bangkok.
Rick Has Been Searching for Jim Hollinger Throughout ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3
Rick and his girlfriend, Chelsea (played by Aimee Lou Wood), arrived at the White Lotus in Thailand and it was apparent early on that his intention was to find Jim. Rick was devastated to learn that Jim wasn’t at the resort.
During a wellness session he reluctantly attended at Chelsea’s prodding, Rick revealed the reason he is such a broken man is because he never knew his father, who was murdered before he was born. He said his mother died of a drug overdose when he was 10 years old.
Rick confessed to “doing a lot of bad things” although he didn’t go any deeper into his character’s seemingly shady profession. He added, “And I can’t get my life back. But maybe I can still get some satisfaction,” which seemed to hint that he was seeking revenge on the man who murdered his father.
While at the resort, Rick found out that Sritala was heading to Bangkok to reunite with Jim. He pretended to be a Hollywood hot shot who had a friend directing a movie that he wanted Sritala to star in. Rick managed to get Sritala’s contact information and planned to set up a meeting between the duo and the “director.”
Rick left a disappointed Chelsea at the resort and flew to Bangkok, where he met up with an old friend Frank, played by Sam Rockwell. Frank brought Rick a gun, as it had been intimated in the lead-up that he might try to kill Jim in revenge for his father’s murder.

After meeting Sritala at a Bangkok restaurant, Rick told her that the director needed to meet with her at her home to better see her in her day-to-day environment so her could fully develop her movie character. Frank agreed to impersonate the director on the condition that Rick did not bring along the gun for their meeting with Sritala, since he’d left his assumed life of crime in the past.
Episode 6 ended with the men arriving at Sritala and Jim’s home by boat, walking past their armed bodyguards and being met by her and Jim. Rick finally got to see Jim in person but is seemingly without the weapon he was going to use to exact his revenge. The show’s penultimate episode has set up Rick getting to meet Jim, but he already appeared unnerved when finally coming face-to-face with the man who allegedly killed his dad.
