Invincible is back on Prime Video – here's when new season 3 episodes drop
Fans of the genre-reversing superhero stories can rejoice – Invincible is back with a fresh dose of gory clashes, family traumas and weird alien creatures. The episodes will drop on Amazon Prime Video weekly – check out our release schedule and ensure you won’t miss any of Mark Grayson’s adventures.
Invincible season 2 covered the story of dealing with trauma and entering adulthood but also featured gruesome fights, alien invasions, and travels to other dimensions. Many fans thought that the story would be devoted mainly to the fight against the Viltrumites. As it turned out, the creators were still setting up the stage for a future war. The Viltrumites, so far, are trying to take over Earth peacefully (by their standards), and Mark and his allies are looking for weapons against their powerful enemies.
Will there be a clash between Earthlings and Viltrumites in the third Invincible instalment? We’ve gathered all the news and rumours about the next season of the Amazon Prime Video series.

When could Invincible season 3 be released?
The animated series is rolling episodes out now on Prime Video. Season 3 debuted on Thursday, 6 February 2025 with a three-episode premiere.
Season 3 was green-lit in 2021. The creators were aware of fans’ impatience. Robert Kirkman, author of the Invincible comic series, told Variety there will be no repeat of the two-year gap between seasons. In March 2024, Steven Yeun, who voices Mark Grayson, confirmed to Collider that work on season 3 is already underway.
In season 2, the creators even jokingly explained how complex the animation process is during a scene where Mark visits Comic-Con and talks to the writer of his favourite comic book and series.

What will the plot of Invincible season 3 be about?
Spoilers for season 2 below.
For now, the creators have not announced an official plot description for season 3. However, thanks to the first teaser, we know that in the new instalment, Mark will be in for some serious training, that would prepare him to fight the Viltrumites.
Here’s a list of seven key plot lines that we believe will appear in season 3:
Nolan’s redemption arc
After the massacre on Earth, his stay on the planet Thraxa, and his reunion with Mark, Omni-Man was filled with remorse and longing for his family. Does this mean that in season 3, he may go against the Viltrumites? First, he’ll have to escape from prison, probably with help from the adorable Allen the Alien.
Of course, remember that Nolan is very old, and the Viltrumite ideals run deep in him. In fact, as an ally, he can be unpredictable.
The search for weapons against the Viltrumites
As it turned out, the lame books Nolan wrote years earlier were memories of past adventures rather than sci-fi stories. In the novels, Omni-Man smuggled information about artefacts and beings powerful enough to injure the Viltrumites.
Among them appeared the Infinity Ray possessed by Space Racer. It’s a weapon that emits an unstoppable energy wave that can destroy anything. Another threat to the Viltrumites were the Rognarrs, lizard-like creatures inhabiting a planet with dense gravity, which made them develop extraordinary strength.
Mark may search for Space Racer and the Rognarrs in season 3 to persuade them to fight against the Viltrumites.
Mark’s younger brother
A purple baby boy named Oliver, the son of Nolan and the Empress of the planet Thraxa, may play an essential role in season 3. It’s yet unknown what features the mixed DNA of a Viltrumite and alien bug will have, but Oliver may surprise with his superpowers.

Angstrom Levy’s Revenge
The highlight of the season 2 finale was the clash between Mark and the disfigured scientist, who was once a pacifist dreaming of bringing happiness to all dimensions.
The bloody clash ended with Angstrom’s death, but does that mean we’ll never see him again? Not necessarily. Levy has had various versions of himself in alternate universes, so in season 3, we may see the return of Mark’s nemesis.
Mark and Atom Eve’s romance
Mark and Amber’s relationship going down the drain came as no surprise in season 2. While in another dimension, Invincible learned that Eve has feelings for him. Although he hasn’t decided to ask her out for now, this may change in season 3.
Monster Girl and Robot’s relationship
Amanda and Rudy finally went on their first date, but their relationship quickly became awkward. By the season’s end, however, they had cleared the air. The girl agreed to accept the help of Robot, who wanted to stop the harmful effects of her transformation into a monster.
In season 3, Rudy will presumably try to find a solution to Amanda’s problems, as she grew biologically younger with each transformation. Will these attempts succeed and not bring some sinister results? Well, in Invincible, nothing can be sure.

Sequids’ invasion
After being rescued from the Sequids and returning from Mars, astronaut Rus tried to build his life anew. However, as he was cleaning up his apartment, he was again attacked by an octopus-like creature that had apparently managed to get to Earth.
In an Alien-like scene, Sequid entwined Rus and took over his body. Thus, in season 3, Invincible will probably have to face an invasion of body-snatching space parasites.

Will there be Invincible season 4?
Yes! The show’s fourth instalment was confirmed in July 2024. It came as no surprise – the Mark Grayson series is a smash hit on Prime Video, and there’s still plenty of comic book material left to adapt.
For now, it’s unknown when season 4 will premiere, but we expect it to appear at the beginning of 2026 based on previous installments.
