Hollywood Producer Will get 146 Years to Life in Jail for Deadly Drugging
Hollywood producer David Brian Pearce was sentenced to 146 years to life in prison after he fatally drugged a model and her friend, as well as sexually assaulted others.
Pearce, 42, was found guilty in February on two counts of first-degree murder after he was deemed responsible for the fentanyl overdose deaths of 24-year-old model Christy Giles and her 26-year-old friend Hilda Cabrales-Arzola, according to People.
Additionally, the district attorney’s office confirmed to the outlet that Pearce was convicted of rape and other sexual assaults against seven other women that took place between 2007 and 2021.
His sentencing hearing took place on Wednesday, October 29, where he was told he was sentenced to 146 years to life in state prison, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office confirmed to People.

Pearce was first charged in connection to the drug-related deaths in July 2022.
During the trial, Deputy District Attorney Seth Carmack told jurors that Pearce drugged the women “to facilitate the sexual assault,” per KNX News. “The defendant is a rapist and now he is a murderer.”
Prosecutors explained that Pearce met Giles and Cabrales-Arzola at a warehouse party in East Los Angeles on November 13, 2021, around 3 a.m. The women later accompanied Pearce and others to his apartment in Beverly Hills about two hours later, where he gave the women GHB and fentanyl.
Cabrales-Arzola ordered a rideshare service about 35 minutes after they arrived at Pearce’s apartment, according to prosecutors. However, they noted that she never left the residence to take the ride.
Police said that Pearce and his roommate, actor Brandt Osborn, dropped the two women off outside separate hospitals hours later.
Once at the hospital, Giles was found dead from a mixture of cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine and GHB outside a hospital in Culver City.
Meanwhile, police said Cabrales-Arzola was found unconscious outside of Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center. Cabrales-Arzola was initially put on life support, though was taken off after she suffered multiple organ failure with cocaine, ecstasy and other undetermined drugs found in her system, per KNX News.

Osborn was also charged amid the crime with two counts of being an accessory, according to ABC7. A judge previously declared a mistrial for him, and he is now awaiting a possible retrial.
Following the death of the friends, Giles’ mother, Leslie Giles, told CBS 48 Hours how she learned of her daughter’s passing. “I was just told, ‘I’m very sorry to inform you, Ms. Giles… But she was dropped off at our hospital on the outside, kind of like a bag of garbage,’” she said. “And, um… ‘She didn’t make it.’… And I said, ‘What do you mean she didn’t make it?’” adding that she was told it was a police matter before she hung up and “fell apart.”
