Harris Campaign: 'Expect Vote Counting to Take Several Days'
It’s starting again. With the election just days away, the Harris-Walz Campaign is telling its voters to expect several days of vote counting from November 5th, according to a post from former Obama Campaign official Jon Cooper.
“I just got off a Zoom call with the Harris campaign, and I want to share this info with my followers,” Cooper wrote in an X post-Friday.
“We’re in a good position to win, but this election may not play out like recent ones have. Late polls will be all over the map.”
“Votes will be counted slowly, and the lead in key states may fluctuate over the course of Tuesday night, Wednesday morning, and throughout the days to follow,” he continued.
“Please stay calm, confident, and focused on turning out the vote and winning this election.”
Here we go again.
Election officials in Maricopa County, Arizona, warned that final vote tabulation is expected to last between 10 and 13 days.
“We do expect that it will take between 10 and 13 days to complete tabulation of all of the ballots that come in, but we ask for the community’s patience,” Deputy Elections Director Jennifer Liewer stated in a news conference two weeks ago. “
“We want to make sure that this is a secure process, but we also want to make sure that it is an accurate process.”
This came as officials pointed to a two-page ballot containing an average of 79 races in anticipation of a lengthy vote-counting process.
However, not all states expect long waits.
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has said his state’s early votes, which are expected to account for 75 percent, will be tabulated and posted by 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Election Night.
“We understand that you’re very passionate about your candidate on both sides of the aisle. But your job is to really control your emotions, go in and vote, and then you can go home and watch it on TV,” Raffensperger told BBC.
“Because by 8 o’clock on election night, all this early voting, and it looks like we’re going to hit over 4 million of early results, all of that will be posted, what the results are, will be tabulated, you know, Tuesday afternoon and reported no later than 8 p.m.”
“That’ll be 70, 75 percent of the total votes,” he added.
“Then over the course of the night, the final 25, 30 percent will be reported on a continual upload.”
