Memphis Police Department said as of 9:28 pm CST, the suspect identified as 19-year-old Ezekiel Kelly was in police custody. All shelter-in-place advisories were lifted.

Police had warned the public to be on an alert for an “armed and dangerous” suspect. They said Kelley was “responsible for multiple shootings” and “recording his actions on Facebook.” Police were unaware of Kelly’s location, and urged witnesses to call 911 immediately if he was spotted.

Local WREG news reporter Bria Jones said Kelly carjacked a woman and shot her before fleeing in her grey Toyota SUV.

Kelly reportedly crashed the vehicle he stole and barricaded himself inside with a weapon.

Video circulating social media appears to show one of Kelly’s live videos on Facebook, in which the individual can be seen driving in a vehicle while shooting a handgun. The individual can be heard saying “I want justice — justice in the streets.” However, the video could not be verified at this time.

Criminal history for a 19-year-old Ezekiel Kelly shows aggravated assault and firearm charges from 2021. On Wednesday, he was charged with first-degree murder.
