Golden Knights Sign Reilly Smith to Three-Year Extension

The Vegas Golden Knights have officially announced the re-signing of Reilly Smith.

Smith’s deal is for three years at $5 million a season, and lines up with what was rumored to be agreed to a few weeks ago.

Smith’s has posted a line of 98-132-230 in 321 games since joining the Vegas Golden Knights, and this past season he was limited to 38 points in 56 games. The Golden Knights winger turned 31 in April, and the team is going to need him to be a big contributor this upcoming season in the wake of the Max Pacioretty trade to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Smith tallied 60 points in 67 games during his first year with the Golden Knights, and followed that up with 22 points in the run to the Stanley Cup Final. That’s the type of player the Golden Knights will need, and hopefully a healthy Smith is able to provide that type of production.
