Former Acting ICE Director: Biden Is Doing Something About Fentanyl – ‘He’s Emboldening These Cartels’

(CNSNews.com) – As CNSNews.com previously reported, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that President Biden is doing something to address the flow of fentanyl into the United States.
“She’s right,” former Acting ICE Director Ronald Vitello told Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo” on Thursday.
“The president is doing something. He’s emboldening these cartels. He’s giving them millions and millions of dollars a week so they can continue to smuggle across the southwest border, which allows them to traffic more drugs. The Border Patrol again, they’re so covered up with the work that they have to do, they can’t stop these seizures,” he said.
“I’m grateful for CDC people who found that shipment of cocaine and continue to find fentanyl in record numbers, but this just shows you how these cartels are essentially controlling the border versus us controlling the border. So yeah, the president is doing something. He’s ruined it all,” he said, Vitello said.
Meanwhile, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is sending a busload of migrants to Chicago, adding it to the list of Democratic-run cities he’s forcing to share the burden of illegal immigration.
Vitello said that Gov. Abbott is doing everything that he can on the Texas border.
He has deployed Department of Public Safety. He’s deployed the National Guard. They’ve built barriers. He’s put resources out for state and locals to help the Border Patrol. Imagine how bad it would be down there, the thousands of people coming across every single night if the state of Texas was not helping.
Sending a bus to Chicago, sending the buses to New York and D.C. has called attention to this problem, unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and you can see these mayors reacting, in my opinion very poor ways, because they’re blaming him. They’re calling him names. They’re saying bad things about him, but what is he doing actually?
He’s doing everything he can on the line given the resources that are available and then he’s asking people if they want a ride, free to them to the city that they were going to end up with anyway.
What do they think– what to do these mayors think about all the thousands of other people who are coming across the border all across the southwest border who are never seen by Border Patrol or never seen by law enforcement and make their way into every city in the United States. This is him calling attention to a problem in trying to get this White house to move into policies that will actually work on the southwest border.
He said that Texas has “done more than the federal government itself in some cases, because the Border Patrol is so covered up with the work that they must do when these large groups come across the border that they cannot go out and patrol.”
So if it wasn’t for the DPS. If it wasn’t for the Texas National Guard, those border cities would be overwhelmed and yet, you have these mayors complaining about a couple of thousand people who were sent voluntarily on buses. This administration has promoted an open borders policy.
That’s why the whole third world knows that now is the time to come to the border. They’ve told people in the United States that are here illegally not to worry about being arrested by ICE because they’re not a target for enforcement. It’s lawless on the border. It’s going to be lawless in the cities, and I think we can all agree these mayors are saying that this is going to be a burden on their cities.
Uncontrolled illegal is a burden to this entire society, to our way of life. It affects crime. It affects human trafficking. It affects the drugs that are coming across the country. It affects school systems in the public health resources.
These mayors need to get to their party in the white house and ask them what the plan is because they talk about having a plan, but I haven’t seen it. They haven’t made a policy statement about what is going on with the border except for to ignore it.
