Neglect Groypers. Instagram Mothers Will Be The Loss of life Of America

Remember just three months ago, when conservatives self-immolated over a smarmy little twerp named Nick Fuentes, who was supposedly going to be the downfall of the conservative movement because he was being platformed?

It went a little something like this. Fuentes identifies as part of the so-called “right” but holds some gross and wholly unconservative views about Jews, nonwhite folks, and ladies. So the self-appointed gatekeepers of the right decided nobody was allowed to talk to him, and instead you had to denounce him. Not only that, but you also had to actively denounce anybody who did talk to him. And if your ritual recitations weren’t guttural and theatrical enough to appease the gatekeepers, you were painted as a threat not only to conservatism but probably to the future of the country.

The infighting got so extreme over the perceived threat of the “Groypers” and Fuentes “platformers” that it ginned up an entire self-defeating news cycle — Streisand effect, much? — and sucked most of the oxygen out of the room at Turning Point USA’s annual America Fest. Sorry we couldn’t stack up wins in your honor, Charlie Kirk. We were too busy bickering for claps.

The Fuentes hysteria looks especially stupid now — first because of a new report from Eric Kaufman at the University of Buckingham Center for Heterodox Social Science showing just how weak Fuentes’ influence really is…

Just 3 percent of adults and 7 percent of Trump voters under thirty-five tune in regularly [to Fuentes’ show]. Another 4 percent of young Trump voters occasionally consume his content. … [T]he effect and scale of the problem is limited. … The Groypers’ power is overstated…

… and second, because we’re once again experiencing a flare-up of a phenomenon with way more power than Nick Fuentes and frog memes have ever had: low-information Instagram performance posting.

It’s everywhere — from IG mommy accounts; food, fashion, and fitness influencers; nurses, nutritionists, and doulas; “deconstructionist” and progressive Christian pages; AWFULs (affluent white female urban liberals) who believe their silence would be literal violence; brand accounts that should have nothing to do with politics; and every other random acquaintance you’ve ever had who gets her news from Instagram reels and sourceless but effortlessly sharable graphics.

The information is low, but the emotion is high. On Instagram, you’ll learn that Immigration and Customs Enforcement used an innocent 5-year-old as “bait” and then arrested him (false — he was abandoned by his own illegal alien father). You’ll learn that mother and “legal observer” Renee Good was “gunned down” in the street (false — the ICE Watch agitator aimed a weapon, aka her two-ton SUV, at a federal officer who had previously been run over by an illegal alien and then accelerated, hitting him and reportedly causing internal bleeding). You’ll learn that the traumatic Cities Church disruption was First Amendment-protected speech (false — it was a direct violation of the FACE Act). You’ll learn that an innocent American citizen was dragged from her car on her way to a doctor’s appointment (false — she was parked in the middle of the street, ignored ICE’s lawful commands to move, and talked back to them despite warnings). You’ll learn that ICE “abducted” or “kidnapped” a U.S. citizen at the Target store where he works (false — they subdued and arrested him after video shows he assaulted an officer). You’ll learn that ICE is the Gestapo, Trump is Hitler, and immigrants are “law-abiding” — even if they’ve broken every one of our immigration laws. For each of these examples, there are dozens more.

Meanwhile, the Instagram army has had nothing to say about the billions of dollars in Somali fraud. Or about Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz agitating for left-wing violence by implying his state was “at war with our federal government” and threatening to deploy the National Guard against ICE in what would amount to “an anti-federal insurrection.” Or about the many innocent Americans brutally raped and/or murdered by illegal aliens that Democrats embraced via open borders — violent crimes that were 100 percent preventable by enforcing the very immigration laws the Trump administration is seeking to now. Or about the fact that non-sanctuary cities and states are somehow deporting illegal aliens without any casualties.

These facts are nowhere to be found on Instagram. But if you don’t toe the line on the official anti-ICE narrative — devised by Democrats, delivered by media propagandists, and distributed to the gullible masses on Instagram — then you’re a cruel Christian faker and Nazi apologist who isn’t loving your neighbor.

The existence of low-IQ Instagram outrage might not seem like much of a threat, especially when you can just tune out the screeching by logging off. But the propaganda slop posting should alarm everyone for a few reasons.

First, the sheer volume is troubling. As a conservative Christian, I probably follow a disproportionate number of right-coded accounts, and my feed is still dominated by anti-ICE rage bait. Some of it is from brainwashed leftists, but much is from self-described Christians who have outsourced their critical thinking to the outrage algorithm.

Second is the gish gallop. The false information flies so fast and furiously that it’s nearly impossible to counter every fake narrative, which is of course by design. The gullible masses eat it all up and perpetually “add to story.”

Third, the people posting are women with influence. Not all are professional “influencers” with massive social media platforms, but the posters include moms, teachers, social workers, students, therapists, coaches, administrators, nurses, lawyers, camp counselors, marketers, and more. They get their “news” from Instagram and then regurgitate it in real-world interactions, including imparting it to the next generation.

Fourth and perhaps most alarmingly, the Instagram army hasn’t learned a thing. The same people people who fell for Black Lives Matter and the performative black square, putting pronouns in their bios, “believe all women,” “defund the police,” “vaxx and mask if you love your neighbor,” “my body, my choice,” the Russia hoax, J6 “insurrection,” “gender-affirming care,” “Free Palestine,” land acknowledgements, Handmaid’s Tale, Trump is a “Christian Nationalist,” the “very fine people” hoax, “abortion saves lives,” Charlie Kirk was a racist, Brett Kavanaugh is a rapist, Trump is a rapist, Trump is a racist, Trump is Hitler, and “No Kings” are falling for it all again, without a shred of shame or embarassment.

The Instagram army represents the ongoing zombification of the female voter base, and Democrats couldn’t be more thrilled. These voters are motivated and militant — but they’re not informed. And that’s a way bigger threat to the future of the republic than a handful of non-influential transgressive Groyper boys will ever be.
