Federal Decide Blocks Pentagon Coverage Limiting Reporter Entry – Journal Posts

A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from enforcing parts of a Pentagon policy that restricted news reporters’ access, finding key provisions “unlawful.”

U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman ruled in favor of The New York Times, determining the policy “illegally” limited press credentials for reporters who declined to accept the new rules and left the Pentagon.
The lawsuit argued the credentialing changes violated constitutional protections for free speech and due process.
