FBI Arrests Radical Boston Democrat on Corruption Charges
A far-left Boston Democrat has been arrested by the FBI on multiple felony charges of fraud and corruption.
Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson was arrested by FBI agents on Friday.
Fernandes Anderson is a former illegal alien and the first Muslim elected to the council.
She also served as vice chair of Boston’s Post Audit Committee, which oversees government accountability.
On Friday, Fernandes Anderson was arrested on six felony charges stemming from a kickback scheme.
The radical Democrat has been charged with five counts of wire fraud and one count of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds.
According to NBC Boston, U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy said at Friday’s press conference:
“The charges stem from an alleged kickback scheme she orchestrated to obtain several thousand dollars in taxpayer money in exchange for bribes paid.”
According to the indictment, Fernandes Anderson allegedly awarded a $13,000 bonus to a staffer.
The staffer, identified as “Staff Member A,” is also a relative of Fernandes Anderson.
The taxpayer-funded bonus was given on the condition that the staffer return over half of the money directly to her.
Prosecutors said approximately $7,000 of the bonus was given to Fernandes Anderson.
Fernandes Anderson allegedly finalized the cash transaction in a bathroom at City Hall.
Text message evidence included in the indictment revealed that Staff Member A handed over $7,000 in kickbacks to Fernandes Anderson during the bathroom meeting.
“When they met in that bathroom, Ms. Fernandes Anderson put $7,000 in her pocket,” Levy added.
“All of that money was funded by the taxpayers of Boston.”
The federal indictment also alleges that Fernandes Anderson misrepresented her relationship with a staff member.
She also misused her position to hire family members, violating city ethics rules.
Fernandes Anderson was previously fined $5,000 by the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission earlier this year.
However, Fernandes Anderson only doubled down on her alleged fraudulent activities, despite the fine.
Prosecutors allege she leveraged her authority to manipulate City Council payroll orders.
This manipulation enabled her relative to receive outsized bonusus that she could skim kickbacks off.
The bonus given to her relative was more than double the combined bonuses of other staff members.
Fernandes Anderson previously made headlines for her wild outbursts during City meetings.
Her liberal colleagues have been raising the alarm over her anti-white threats, calls for a “revolution,” and aggressive, wild tirades.

The source said they requested anonymity because Fernandes Anderson has created an “unhealthy” environment.
During city meetings, Fernandes Anderson has called to “dismantle the white backdrop” in America and “create a revolution.”
The employee believes Fernandes Anderson is a “troubled person” who accuses opponents of racism to get people to fall in line.
