Elon Musk: 'The New York Times Is Pure Propaganda'

Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to a post that contained a graph by the New York Times that was accused of being false, slamming the liberal outlet for spewing propaganda.

“This was the graph the New York Times accused of being false. It’s literally just raw data sourced from the CBP nationwide encounters dataset. I think it’s a quite clear, aesthetic, & comprehensible synthesis of a complex topic. Perhaps they dispute the title, but the legality of the CHNV Program hasn’t been adjudicated in court. Many executive actions are illegal. And mass importing Haitians using their novel TPS justifications is not explicitly authorized by Congress,” user datahazard wrote.

Musk’s post comes amid tensions with the mainstream media.

The tech billionaire frequently used his platform to criticize traditional news outlets.

His recent attack on the New York Times reflects a broader trend of people losing trust in the media.

Musk has gained a massive following for his alternative viewpoints after he bought Twitter in 2022, giving a voice to conservative voices.

However, liberal critics say Musk’s frequent attacks on established news sources could exacerbate political polarization.

Although the New York Times has not yet responded to Musk’s accusation, it will likely intensify scrutiny of both X’s content policies and the billionaire’s own influence on public discourse.

Earlier this month, Musk sent liberal heads spinning after he predicted a “golden age” if former president Donald Trump wins the November election.

Musk said during a conversation with the All-In Podcast, “I think the reality is that if we get rid of nonsense regulations and shift people from the government sector to the private sector, we will have immense prosperity.”

“I think we will have a golden age in this country, and it’ll be fantastic.”
