Elon Musk has donated $10 million to the pro-Nate Morris Fight for Kentucky super PAC, marking the largest single contribution he has ever made to a Senate candidate. The gift signals Musk’s intention to spend heavily in the 2026 midterms.
Morris, a 45-year-old entrepreneur and ninth-generation Kentuckian, is running to succeed retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as an anti-establishment, pro-Trump candidate. He founded Rubicon, one of the nation’s largest waste and recycling companies, and plans to largely self-fund his campaign through the May primary.
Musk, who was the largest donor in 2024 with nearly $300 million to Republican causes—mostly supporting Trump—has also given to pro-GOP House and Senate super PACs. Reports indicate he met with Morris recently and was impressed by his business background, anti-McConnell stance, and outsider message. Musk’s private conversations with Republican operatives suggest he may contribute more this cycle.
Morris launched his campaign on Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast last year and is running as a hardline anti-immigration candidate. He has the backing of conservative figures including the late Charlie Kirk, Sens. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) and Jim Banks (R-Ind.), and MAGA podcaster Steve Bannon. Trump has not yet endorsed in the Kentucky primary, which also includes Rep. Andy Barr and former state Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Republicans remain heavily favored to retain the seat.
