Donna Kelce's Subtle Taylor, Travis Reference in Holiday Touchdown

Donna Kelce appeared in several scenes for her cameo in Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown and even made one subtle reference to son Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

In the film, which premiered on Saturday, November 30, Donna, 72, works at a local Kansas City barbecue restaurant owned by Alana Higman’s (Hunter King) grandparents. Alana and her family are vying for the title of “Fan of the Year” for the Kansas City Chiefs and the team’s director of fan engagement, Derrick (Tyler Hynes), is spending time with them to do his research.

As Alana’s meddling mother and grandmother try to push a romantic connection between the two, Donna tells them, “Don’t force it, ladies, just let it happen. Trust me on this one.”

The quote seems to be a reference to how things ended up working out for her own son in such an unexpected way. Travis, 35, and Taylor, 34, got together after he attended the Eras tour in July 2023 and then publicly declared that he wished he’d gotten the chance to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at the show. She reached out following his public shout-out and they debuted their romance that September.

Funnily enough, Holiday Touchdown star Hunter, 31, was also at one of the Kansas City Eras tour shows. “We went to Arrowhead Stadium, like, almost a year to the day of when we started filming [Holiday Touchdown],” she exclusively told Life & Style. “It had been a year since I had been at Arrowhead Stadium for Taylor’s Eras tour. I was like, ‘This is such a fun feeling. I’m back at the place where this all started.’ So yeah, I have a deep love for Taylor. I’m a Swiftie at heart.”

Amid Travis and Taylor’s relationship, Donna has gotten to know the pop star and even attended her record-breaking Eras tour for the first time in October. However, when it comes to what the future holds for the A-list couple, she’s kept tight-lipped.

“Nobody knows [if they’re going to get engaged],” she told Page Six on October 8. “We will see what happens. You never know.”

In a September interview with Extra, she gushed about how things were going so well for her younger son. “It just seems like his life is on a trajectory that just is rising every single day,” she shared. “And every time I turn around I’m seeing him doing something different, whether it’s on the golf course or at a concert or whatever, he’s just having his best life right now.”

Meanwhile, Donna’s older son, Jason Kelce, has been married to Kylie Kelce since 2018 and they have three daughters. Earlier this month, the couple announced that they are expecting their fourth child – another baby girl.

“I think four beautiful little girls is very magical,” Travis told his brother on the Wednesday, November 27, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “You can always go for the starting five though. Just fill the midfield, you know?”
