Chappell — who was born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz — said she’s involved with someone during a March 25, 2025, appearance on Alex Cooper‘s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
Alex asked the “Pink Pony Club singer, “I’m assuming you’re single right now … Wait. Are you single?”
Chappell responded, “No,” to the question while shaking her head. When Alex asked how long she’d been with the person, she replied, “six months.” Chappell said the romance was not “casual,” and added, “It’s serious. I’m very in love.”
While the Missouri native didn’t specify that she was with a woman, Chappell has been open about being queer and preferring to date women.

“Be single. Stop dating. Have a great time alone. Find out for yourself if you can 100 percent be OK alone before you date. That’s what I found out. I had a great time when I was single and now, I have an awesome time that I’m with someone,” Chappell told Alex about dating.

The Grammy winner said she met her current love, “Through a friend, but it wasn’t a setup,” revealing she made the first move and that the lucky person was someone from her past.
“I haven’t dated someone since this all really really blew up,” Chappell revealed to Alex, referring to how she became a pop sensation in 2024. “I’m dating the same person that I was dating before it blew up.”

“I’m not sure how I would date now. I think it would actually be a nightmare. I think I would be, like, so f–king single right now,” Chappell explained on the podcast about how fame has changed the dating game for her.
“I’m scared. I don’t trust anyone. I just think in my head, any new person that I am texting, I’m like, I’m assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else. That’s why I can’t,” she added about the possibility of dating someone new in the future.

While Chappell said she doesn’t really have a “type” when it comes to dating, she revealed to Alex, “I love art girls. Like, weird art girls. Girls who love to read.”
Also on the list are girls who like to “collect things” and be “OK with an exotic pet.” Chappell also looks for someone who “doesn’t give a f–k about their car, will pick up a worm, is not afraid of bugs and snakes,” and “can get down watching a foreign film.”

Similarly, the “Femininomenon” songstress revealed in an August 2023 Los Angeles Times profile that she was in a relationship with a woman but kept her identity private.
“I feel scared kissing her in public,” Chappell told the publication. “Even though I’m in L.A., homophobia is in the back of my head. It’s liberating, but there’s a new set of problems that I didn’t know existed.”
