Celebrities Who’ve Learn, or Written, Fan Fiction About Themselves
Celebrities—they’re just like us! Some of them even read fan fiction … about themselves. And believe it or not, some have even written fan fiction too. Keep reading to uncover the stars who have admitted to this fascinating tidbit.
We’re guessing you know what fan fiction is, but just in case: fan fiction is fictional writing created by fans, often shared on sites and apps like Wattpad or Archive of Our Own. Most stories revolve around fictional characters from TV shows and movies—or, of course, real-life celebrities.
Billie Eilish proved she’s in the fan fiction club back in October 2022. While answering questions on her Instagram Stories, Billie was asked if she’d ever read fan fiction about herself. Her response? A simple “yes,” plus a screenshot of Wattpad in her “Top Hit” apps on her phone. Iconic.
Then there’s Harry Styles, who might just be the ultimate muse for fan fiction. While he hasn’t admitted to reading any of it himself, one fanfic inspired by the former One Direction star was adapted into a movie franchise called After. The power this man has.
Harry did respond to a question about After during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” in May 2022, though. When asked if the series was actually about him, the “As It Was” musician had a somewhat awkward reply:
“I don’t know how much … I don’t know,” he said, according to clips shared on TikTok. “I don’t really know. I don’t know if I can confirm. I’m not entirely educated on the origin of the script or anything. … I’ve heard of it, yeah. But I don’t know in terms of … I’m not really sure.”
And one person on this list has even admitted to writing fan fiction about him. Curious who? Scroll through the gallery below to see all the celebrities who have confessed to reading—or writing—fan fiction about themselves.
